I went to Dominicks today to get one of their deli sandwiches. It's on a board where you have six to choose from. They have to make them and they taste really good.

So I ordered a sandwich that came with avocados. I said no avocados please. First the woman rolls her eyes at me, saying I don't think we have everything here to make it. Then she moves like a turtle and starts making it. So she ask what I want on it, and I said again, everything but avocado. So she's sighing and making faces, but I don't say anything because maybe she's tired or something.

Again, she goes "what do you want on it?" and I repeated it. Now I'm being friendly this whole time, but inside I'm starting to lose my patience. Now I see her putting on avacados, so I'm like, whatever, I'll take them off myself. So she goes "oh wait, you don't want these, right?" and before I can say anything, she rolls her eyes again and throws my sandwich on the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I quit being nice and said forget it, I don't want it. And as I'm walking away, she goes "what? you don't want it? what's your problem?" I usually would turn around and let her have it, but I didn't want to cause a scene.

If it's such a pain in the *** to make those sandwiches, why do they offer them? I wanted to tell a manager, but I didn't. She then sees me in the store and stands there and gives me dirty looks! I just started laughing and left.

I will not go there again!

thanks for the vent.

Oh my gosh! I would have fallen out laughing! She's too much!  :p :p

Oh my goodness!!! That's pretty incredible! I can't believe how rude some people are--all you wanted was just one simple thing left off your sandwich and she goes off like a roman candle. Good grief! I'm not sure if I would have laughed or screamed, LOL!

I am the assistant pricing manager at a large local grocery store. I agree, the service that you received was terrible! My suggestion would be to call the store and ask to speak with a manager. The problem with not complaining and not going back to the store is that the store may not be aware that there is a problem so they can't correct it. I know that if someone had a complaint like that at our store, the employee would be spoken to about it, and the customer would receive a store gift certificate. If you complain and nothing happens - then don't go back. Just a suggestion from somone in the business. Good luck.

I swear people amaze me!! If they aren't going to fix it, then why is it on the menu!! I probably would have lost my cool and said something smart-assed. As hard as jobs are to come by you would think she would have been thankful to have a sandwich to fix for goodness sakes!

I'm glad she isin Chcago and not in Mass although we have people just like her. After me telling someone what i want 2 times if I have to respeat it I talk slow and ask them what word they didn't understand :D

I would have complained but I was so po'd, I knew I would have been yelling and probably started screaming at that lady. I just wanted to leave.

And then I feel guilty, because I wouldn't want someone to lose their job when they probably really need it. It was just a sandwich, so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that she was having a horrible day.

She probably had a fight with her husband before work, or possibly she just hates her job. That's no excuse for her behavior though. Sorry she gave you such a hard time.

I don't think I'd want to eat anywhere that they throw the food on the floor if it's not right? You need to let the manager know, regardless if she is having a bad day. There's no excuse for that.

Babar...you need to march right back there and apologize! She is obviously in the middle of menopause. Not only was she grumpy and very forgetful but I bet she was burning hot too.;) ;) ;)

just kidding!

What a shame! Those sandwiches are really good too. I like the South Sider ;)

Seriously though, I have found the management at Dominick's to be really good. I'd give them a call and let them know what's going on.

Why was she even working there? {{{{{HUGS}}}}

My dad was in Sub Way getting a sandwich and he had to tell the guy three times that he didn't want black olives on his sub. The guy still put olives on it and my dad started to get mad. So he told him again not so nice this time that he did not want them on his sandwich. The guy got so mad he chucked the sub against the back wall and stormed off.

As a manager in the customer service industry (a movie theatre), I would highly recommend that you call back and speak to a manager. Not just to get anything free, but to make sure that that employee is repremanded. Heck, you may get a free meal in the process. That's the least that you deserve for the way you were treated. There is no excuse for poor workmanship such as that. As a manager, I would want to know if one of my employees did that and make for darn sure that they would never treat a customer with that much disrespect again. If that doesn't work, call a district manager. That will seriously light a fire under that place of business and then they'll get things right the next time.

I had a very similar situation at Subway recently, I can't believe the gall of people.

Jeafl, I usually get the Southsider!!

If I could do this over, I'd go back and get that because I don't ask for anything to be left off.

(of course, I ask for extra horseradish, so I'm sure that would have been a problem too;) )

I don't like avacados either. :)

But, you need to talk to the manager. I am bold enough I wouldn't have gotten too angry before I would have asked for a manager, since she was having such a hard time with it.

Folks, don't wait so long to do something. If someone isn't doing their job like they should, find someone who will.
If no one tells the manager or superviser what's happening, how are they to know?
