I'm frustrated.UPDATE:They came thru!HW or PO?

My Make a Wish trip is just getting more twisted and frustrating by the second.

I had just 2 things I wanted in my wish. For my BFF to come and to stay onsite.
They veto'd the friends as my chapter doesn't allow it. Other chapters do. Now I'm told I might not be able to stay onsite. We started the process 2 months ago and we have NO plans. MAW told us they haven't even talked to Disney yet about the summer wishes. I wanted to go in summer as it's not possible to miss any school next year, and we don't have holiday breaks.

Hasn't enough gone wrong already? Why can't this one thing go right?

What exactly is a 'chapter'?

The chapter is like...the commitee of your area.
Each state is split up into regions, which has it's own chapter. In the chapter are the volunteers and workers.

Wanna know why?
Because I'm not an only child.

My friend is an only and thru the same chapter he got to bring his friend. But since I have a sibling, my friend can't go.

Not to sound like a party pooper, but make-a-wish is going to pay for your whole trip and your getting mad because its not going to be when you want it and you cant take your friend along? If i was diagnosed with a life threating illness i would be pissed that i got it, but id be happy someone wants to make my life a little better. I'm not going to say i understand what it feels like to be in your position because i've never been in your position, but still your whole trip. idk, i hope your trip works out though and you have a great time, just think about all they are doing for you.

Here's the thing : MAW isn't paying for my whole trip.We've still got to pay for meals and possibly transportation and some lodging. And yeah I am a little peeved my BFF can't go for the SOLE fact I have a sibling. She has been my BFF literally since diapers and she has been there for me thru everything.

It's frustrating because they keep dropping bombs on me. They tell me to 'dream big' and the wish will come thru soon. I dream big and then they tell me I can't do certain things. I mean for cryin out loud they made me BEG! and write a letter as to why I wanted DLR over WDW. No lie I have a copy of the letter.

That is just ridiculous. After all you have been through, the least they can do is make your wish come true. After all it is called Make-A-Wish foundation.

My best friend had cancer when she was 10 years old and her MAW was to meet Bette Midler. They couldn't meet face to face but they spoke on the phone a few times. So hopefully, they come through for you just as they did for her

Update

We recieved word today that something had finally been put together. We're only going for 6 days, which includes 2 days travelling. Not near the 10 days we were originally told, but it's something. We get 2day tics to DCA and DL, and 1 day Knotts Berry Farm. We're also guaranteed a room onsite, we just don't know what hotel yet. They're also supposed to provide transportation, and money for food and souvenirs, but that remains to be seen.

When my coordinator told my mom, she said this was all from the CA chapter. But in her guildlines, it stated that we were also to get tickets to Universal and the stay was supposed to be 10 days?. They might be asking what's the deal on that, but idk. I am slightly disappointed, only because it seems like so much with so little time. There is the option to extend the stay, but financially that's not an option. (heck, i don't even know how we're affording b-day presents this week!)

But I also have a ? for ya'll.

Which would you rather visit? We have 1 free day and we don't know what to do!
