Brrrr!!!

I hate working inside a building where the windows don't open. They've got the A/C blasting even though it's cool outside, and my hands are so cold, I need gloves to type.

Oh Janice I feel your pain! Have you considered a space heater? Or how about bringing in a sweater to leave at your desk? When I used to work, my office could have as many as 9 women in it at any given time. Do you know how many fights there were over the AC? Between some who would wear 10 layers of clothes, drink hot coffee, and have hot flashes and some who had no meat on their bones whatsoever and wore typical "summer" clothes, there was a constant war. I would literally sit there on a 95 degree day with my space heater on and my window open. There were others who in the dead of winter would come in and whip open every window in the office, freezing us all out. Thats one thing I dont miss about my job. ;)
Good luck and keep warm!

I'm sitting here with a sweater on as the A/C is blasting away. They lock covers over the thermostats so we can't control the darn thing.

Oh, this is the story of my life. Why do people feel it needs to be like the North Pole inside when its hot outside? I get sick every summer because of this.

Right now I have a sweater on and slippers. I kid you not.

i have gotten to the point i wear a lab coat all the time because i am one of the cold one's.

i wish our office was freezing -- the air doesn't work in the wing i work in. :(

I used to work in a place like that- I had my own space heater and wore winter clothes all year long.

Now I work in an unairconditioned building. Boy I miss my former job!

I would rather it be too cold than too warm, but yes, the office where I work this summer is freezing. It's been a rare day that I haven't had to wear a jacket or a sweater.

I hate being cold. Where I work I have to wear a sweater to stay warm. My DH called the other day to complain about the heat (it was well over 100 and the humidity was horrible) I didn't have the heart to tell him I was wearing a sweater.

I know what you're going thru. I've lived that before. I always kept a jacket handy at the office in case it got too cold. And I wasn't the only one!

Just the opposite story:
DW went into work a couple weeks ago on a Monday & the office was *HOT*. At 7:30am, the temp *INSIDE* the building was 99 degrees (F). It was only about 75 degrees outside at the time. Turns out the A/C went out late Sat or early Sun. It killed her fish (a Beta). An employee came Sun & noticed the heat, but didn't call building maintenance or anything. It took a *llllloooooonnnnngggg* time to cool the building off. If it's not one extreme, it's the other....

I wear a sweater, I have a space heater, and I have to wear wool socks and heavy shoes in the summer.... Left a thermometer in my office, it was somewhere between 60 and 65 degrees. With the space heater on. Some days, the draft from my a/c vents is so strong, I've threatened ear muffs. (President of the company likes it COLD, and I'm on his a/c zone.) Can't wait to move in November. Can't wait to wear fun shoes next summer!
