I had mentioned to dh that since this would possibly be a traveling year for us for Christmas, and since we are doing something Disney this summer and wouldn't be going to Disney for Christmas/New Year's, that perhaps we could go to Williamsburg. I have family that live in Norfolk and have never been there for Christmas - other holidays but never that one - and I'd love to be able to maybe do that.
So I mentioned it sometime this weekend, maybe yesterday, about if we were going to consider going and that I had done some looking at rates on hotels.com and found some good ones. I had even mentioned that with family in the area we wouldn't have to eat out so much and it would be nice to get a room with a kitchen. So while I was laying down with a massive sinus/migraine, dh comes in and says - do you know this place and how about this rate....I couldn't believe it and I wanted to know where it was located (I know the are pretty well) and I was shocked at the awesome rate we got. So we said, what the heck - there was no deposit needed, and no penalty if we have to cancel.
My aunt has been sick the past couple of years and slowly going downhill. I haven't seen her in 3 years (since my grandma - her mom - passed away) and I had suggested that on our way home from our cruise perhaps we could drive up there for a couple of days. This just really makes me happy that I get to spend Christmas with some of my family that I very rarely get to see because they are so far away. I can't wait to tell my dad (it's his sister) and we are hoping that dh's folks will come with and perhaps my dad can come out too. It will be so much fun. My cousin that lives out there has a dd that is a year older than my dd and they have gotten along when we've visited - they both like sports and similar things. I can't wait!!!!! I just had to share - thanks for letting me.
