DW and I decided to buy 350 SSR points. That process is moving ahead, slowly, mostly due to the fact we are posted to the Embassy in Kazakhstan and paperwork is being completed by my mom with a power of attorney.
In scanning these boards, I was under the impression that DVC was offering incentives (100 points, no 2005 maintenance). I have a heck of a time calling as my guide never seems to be in the office, even when I schedule a time to call (we're 11 hours ahead of EST) and it is darn expensive to call from Kazakhstan, be put on hold only to be told to call back later.
My question is, can anyone tell me am I not being offered the current incentives?
Its not going to affect my decision, we have started the
paperwork and wired the cash to pay for the points.
The 100 extra points would be nice to bank and put with our points so when we get back to the states in summer 2006 we can either get a bigger place for family to visit with us or stay longer to welcome ourselves back to civilization.

We've just come back from a trip to WDW, and they were advertising a "free vacation" but I don't know if they specified the number of points it involved.

I cut and pasted this is from the DVC Website. It doesn't say how many points they're providing, but I hope this helps:

When we just signed up in April the incentive was either a Complimentary Vacation or recieve a Credit of $8.00 per vacation point toward the cost of your ownership interest. 350 points would have got you use of up to 250 developer vacation points to use for the complimentary vacation. Also our Annual Dues were paid for the rest of the year.

I think you might be confusing the 100 point incentive for members who add on with an initial purchase incentive. The 100 points was for current members who add on at least 120 points at SSR.

We started our purchase almost a month ago. We arepurchasing 270 points at SSR but we did it as an initial purchase of 150points....after about 20 days we were able to start a 120 point add-on so that we could get the 100 point incentive. At this time though, there would not be enough time to break your 350 point purchase into an initial purchase and then an add-on before the incentive ends in June. Sorry, but I hope the info helps.

Thank you all for your info. The 100 point incentive for an add on rings a bell. I requested a purchase of two 175 point contracts, but assume then that wouldn't suffice as an add-on. Someone else brought up the vacation incentive, don't know how that would help us in Kazakhstan, especially since we just booked a trip to Disney Paris.
Done is done, paperwork is all in process, money paid, so we should be owners in a few weeks.

Let me be the first to say:
congratulations & welcome home! :Pinkbounc
