by insects. What's the deal! Spiders and ants are everywhere.

No spiders or ants - but where the heck did all the ladybugs come from?

get you some bug spray!!

I noticed this weekend our huge ugly black grasshoppers are springing up all over. Right now they are about 1/2 inch long.....few weeks they will be several inches long. EWwwwwww!! I hate it, last year there were hundreds all over my yard, eating my plants!!!

Serena,

I can relate! Ugh! I have carpenter ants and spiders! Yuck! What's next?? Oh yeah, I have a big lazy cat who just watches those ants crawl all over the floor!

The ants started out just in the kitchen (I guess they like being near the water) but now are brave enough to be in the living room and last night I saw one in my bedroom! :scared1:

I have a friend who is an exterminator and he said that ant traps don't work with carpenter ants so I guess I'm going to have to buy some spray!

When I first bought my town house I had a TERRIBLE ant problem. Trust me, you want those buggers gone before they invade your kitchen cabinets. If they're really bad, you should call out an exterminator. I did that when it got really bad and they haven't been back. Problem with ant spray is it doesn't solve the problem long term, they'll just keep coming back.

Good luck! I feel your pain!!

Someone once told me...maybe it was our home inspector...that the first warm days of spring usually bring out the insects in your house whose eggs have lain dormant all winter. We tend to get a lot of spiders, and the other day I saw a fly!!!! He was real slow, almost lazy-looking, but he was flying.

LOL! Chalk it up to spring! Just think about the fact that it is better than snow!:p

Lady bugs and boxelder bugs here... The lady bugs I can deal with...

The boxelder bugs? I want to scream my head off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you Airhead! I hate bugs. I haven't seen anything but ladybugs so far. I know the ants are planning their attack.

Well, I'm thrilled with the warmer weather so I guess if I have to kill a few bugs I guess I'll just have to. :D

Are they actual lady bugs? If so, they don't bother me a bit (but I haven't seen one around here for years), but if it's the stinky orange Japanesse beetles, those are the ones that drive me crazy.

On Fri. we added an ant invasion (they were the tiniest ants I've ever seen) to the beetles, boxelder bugs, and spiders that had already decided to share my living space. I read that putting down a line of laundry soap where the ants were coming in would stop them, so I tried it & it actually worked.

The spiders seem to be eating the boxelder bugs, but if they get anywhere near one of the beetles they turn & run.

We have those lady bug look alike bugs in our house. I can't stand them. They stink when you squish them and they just won't go away. What are these called, anyway?

Regular lady bugs, I love them.:D

We are having ladybug problems also. I heard that it is a bad year for Asian Ladybugs. These have more of an orange look than the usual red ladybug. I keep getting them in my walkout basement on the sliding glass door.

I've also had a few ants. They start coming in when we start getting a lot of rain. I heard that if you put a line of chalk down where they come in, it will keep them out. Not sure if it works.
