Hi All!
Well I do have good news. After 2 days at grandmas, and 3 days with DD at camp, I am down a pound. Now, that isn't a lot, but I am on track. At grandmas, I ate salad for lunches and one for dinner. I didhave some beef stroganoff, which was ok but not really good for me. I didn't have a lot though.
My biggest success this weekend came on Saturday. I took my kids to see their Phoenix grandma who was in town (Michigan) for a wedding. On the way in, DH and the rest of the Fam Damily, decided to go to Franklin Cider Mill.
Not exactly on my healthy living list of good for me foods! (This place is a Saturday Mecca in the fall for many a Michigander, and we were no exception. Since we moved south of the border, we visit only once a year.) Anyway, DH buys 4 dozen donuts and a gallon of cider! (Making up for the lost trips I guess!) Ladies and Gentlemen, drum roll please! I didn't have a single bite or drop! Not the entire weekend! I am still in awe of myself. DH was suitably impressed and never once tried to undermine me! Thing is, I really did not want to eat them. Use to be I didn't want to want them, but of course, that is not always a very strong motivator. I really did not have an appetite for them. Yea ME!
Saturday evening, DH was drinking White Russians. I really like them, so I made myself a small one. I could only choke down half!!!!!
Off to camp on Monday a.m. Actually, it was tough there. Most of the food was obviously kid friendly, which meant pizza, grilled cheese, ranch dressing, french fries and the like. I ate salad which I brought with me, salad bar for dinner both nights, and salad for one other lunch, though it wasn't supposed to be a salad. I guess it was lettuce for the ham and cheese sandwiches.
(It was beautiful romaine lettuce, so I grabbed a bunch and tore it up for salad. ) Anyway, toward the end, there was little salad left and I did have to eat things I would not normally eat. Thank goodness it was worse than hospital food, so I didn't eat much.
I kept very busy with the kids and had a wonderful time. I am happy with the outcome and am ready to get back to business here!
Keep the Faith!
Tracy
