I'm BAAAACK!!!

Well after 7 months I'm back! I went through a really rough time at work and kind of gave up on photography (or anything really) for a while, but I have left my job there and now I have moved to Florida and have a new job here!!!! I am so excited for the possibilities and photography potential!! Anyway, here are a few shots from a recent trip over to MK! ENJOY!!!!!!!!

Welcome back. Can you tell me what settings you used for the Main Street shot was it daytime. A ND filter?

That first shot has 'ND400' written all over it! It is definitely an effect you could obtain with a heavy ND filter - 8 or 9 stop at least, or using one of the variable ND filters that can be dialed in for 8+ stops. Also, two linear polarizers turned opposite eachother can act as variable NDs.

I use a Hoya ND400 filter for daytime slow shutter work, and have taken very similar shots to the first one:

I love it - imitation is flattering - I've certainly duplicated enough shots from others I've seen here myself! Yours has some lovely rich colors - you could see the slight red tint that the deep ND filters produce, but you got nice saturation and pop in yours. I really want to take another like it once winter comes again - there's no way I'm standing on main street in summer heat for that long to take such a shot again!
