Wow! What an interesting place Vegas is!!!

For anyone interested here are a few of my opinions:

1. Do not stay at the Tropicana especially after experiencing anything from All Stars and up at Disney!! We spent ten minutes in a room there, went down and stated our concerns. We were upgraded immediately to a "premium" room on the 14th floor. It was NO upgrade!! So..........we went over to Monte Carlo where my brother & family were staying and were lucky to get good rates there. Monte Carlo is a beautiful spot!!! Great pool area!!

2. Get a rental......it's the only way to get around Vegas when it's 104!

3. MGM is the place to gamble!!!

4. If you need a Disney fix.......go to Excalibur and wander around. The music is very similar to Epcot's!

5. Binion's prime rib special was the best meal we ate!

6. If you are traveling with teens......Gameworks is a must!!

7. Vegas was great fun BUT our next trip will be Disney!!!

Sorry you didn't like Tropicana. It's our favorite place to stay in Las Vegas. (We have also stayed at Mirage, Monte Carlo, Excalibur and Golden Nugget.) Were you looking at rooms in the Paradise Tower? If so, be glad you didn't see a Garden Room or one in the other tower (the name escapes me). Those rooms are really the pits. LOL!

Glad you got to stay at Monte Carlo. Definitely more upscale than the Trop. We just prefer the south Strip location.

Sounds like you had a fun first trip to Las Vegas. Do you think you'll be going back? LV is definitely no Disney World but it's a nice change of pace every once in a while.

My mom and sister just got back last night. They stayed at Paris....the rooms were small, there weren't enough tables or slots at the casino but the food was superb!

I don't think they saw you, Kitty! Did you see them???? LOL LOL LOL

DH loves Vegas, almost as much as he loves Disney!

His favorite resorts are Ceasar's Palace and The Venetian.

Hi Aprille.......we were going to stay in the Island Tower. I can't imagine how gross the Garden rooms were!! Maybe the Paradise Tower would have been a better upgrade than the "premium" room they offered us. The only difference betwen the 1st room and the premium room was the Premium room had been clean!!

Gina...thanks for the little ditty about Kitty!!! My DS and I went on the Eiffel Tower but didn't see your Mom and sister!!! We looked too!!!

Patrick......the MC was definetly the place for us!!! What a great room we had!! The pool was very nice. I think the Dolphin has really spoiled us if you know what I mean!!!

Jamsmom.......the MGM definetly earns it's name......GRAND!! I loved the casino area because it's so open!! People were very friendly there, too.

Vald1977......you'll love Vegas. Hopefully you'll be able to get there soon.

I'm sorry you had bad luck at Trop Whwn Dh and I stayed there we loved it. WE had Island tower rooms. Now the Super 8 we had in SLC that was a DUMP!!!

Ceasar's Palace was pretty cool, Blondie. My boys thought so, too. They loved all the shops.

Juli........I was so looking forward to the Trop. Actually the casino and other parts of the Trop were nice. I guess we were just unlucky with the two different rooms. I'm not even that picky!!
The show at the Comedy Stop was hilarius!!!

Catsrule.......walking thru the hotels is great but walking TO them is another story!! When a hotel looks close by.......it's not!!!

Kath.......let's just say I got some $$ to burn at the Meridian Mall next week!!!!

Maggie.......you and Gina could most definetly be back up singers for Celine!!! The closest I got to her was when we walked right past the doors!! The hubby and boys were not interested in her show. Where's the Dance Party goin' be?........hopefully at the Clarion!!!
