Just wanted to give a great report for CSR! It's our first time here and we LOVE it! We've stayed at BC and Swan, so we were a bit apprehensive. The rooms are plenty big, the grounds are stunning, and the food court isn't so "food court-ish." We brought Q&C vouchers, so we've eaten very well and healthfully ( we usually OD on chicken strips.) We are already planning to come back.

So if you have an upcoming trip and you're wondering what to expect--RELAX. It's great!

PS. When I'm at Disney I expect to hear excited kids at all hours. I expect that in EVERY resort. You really need to bring ear plugs to Disney if you want it very quiet. (I keep my kids quiet in the hall, but as a teacher, married to another teacher, we know the reality of being around large numbers of children :hyper: )

From one teacher to another, thanks for such a positive report. We leave Wednesday morning for CSR. It is also our first time at this resort. We are very excited. Yes, I do make my children behave, but they ARE children and they ARE at DISNEY WORLD!!! For anyone wanting a REALLY quiet resort, I highly recommend the cabins at FTW. They are our favorite place to stay, but we like trying different resorts from time to time.

I actually thought CSR was pretty quiet, and I loved it there. I think it's one of the more beautiful resorts at WDW. Our rooms were near a pond (swamp?!?!) and just outside the door it was very loud with insects and bullfrogs, especially at night. But when the doors were closed we couldn't hear it at all.

Glad to hear you are loving CSR. Isn't it a beautiful resort? I thought CSR was pretty quiet when I was there also. The only time I heard children was at the pool laughing and having fun like kids are supposed to do. At times, I thought we might be the only people at the resort. I can't wait to go back. I have try all of the other resorts first!! :)

Thanks for the great report! We'll be staying there in August for the first time, so every time I read a negative review I get real antsy!! :scared:

So thanks for the positive reinforcement! BTW which building are you in?

Don't forget to take a walk in the evening, when it is dark.
This resort is so beautiful, daytime or nightime.
I'm not crazy about the food court compared to the other
food courts, but I would stay at CSR
in a heartbeat.

This is our favorite moderate resort. I'm so glad you had a good time. We have stayed here many times in the different sections,
at different times of the years and always come back.
I think people are apprehensive about staying here because of the convention center. But honestly I say here because of it. The bus system is better them most. You don't have to share the bus with any other resort, but may have to make a stop at Blizzard Beach, but thats it.
And when the conventions are there, the Pepper Market might be a little more crowded at times, but it's no worse then other resorts during their prime time breakfast, lunch or dinner hours.

Glad you are enjoying it. We go in September for our first stay at CSR!!:hyper: What section are you in? We just can't decide what to request! Any help??

We're on our 8th day here, and still having a great time. Tomorrow is our last day. The time has flown...

Anyway, we are in the Casitas 3. All areas are beautiful and seem to have their own appeal, but WHEN we come back, I think we'll stick with the Casitas. I think I would request Casitas 4. Here's why: Bus Stop 2 seems to be the best stop. It's the first to pick up, so you always get on the first bus and you always get a seat. Casitas 4 is close to that stop, right by the Quiet Pool (which is lovely and relaxing, especially at night) and not too far from both Pepper Market and the Dig Site. Any walking you do is around the pretty lake, so it's very enjoyable.

To tell the truth, I'm not sure how crowded it is here. When we checked in, I requested this building and it was no problem, so I thought maybe they weren't full. The only times we've seen a line at Pepper Market were 2 nights when it stormed badly and a long line formed around 7:30 (was fine earlier.) So, eat early if it's not a good park night. The pools have not been terribly crowded either--I always found a lounger and usually a whole table by the hot tub.

I'll post a complete report when we get back, but I'll just say that we've loved the resort!

We will have a car, so aren't concerned about the bus stops. My husband was in Florida for some business and took a drive around CSR to check it out and he is leaning towards Casitas also. I am sure we'll be happy in any location.

How long would you say it takes to walk to the Dig site and the Pepper Market from Casitas 4? Right now I'm thinking of asking for the cabanas 9b area when we go, but could go for the other side of the lake if it's about the same distance.
Hope you're having fun!
Kim

Casitas 4 is closer to the Dig Site than the main building. 4-5 min walk to the Dig Site and 5-7 minute walk to the main building. it depends if you are a fast walker or like to stop and look at things along the way.

Which Moderate would you pick?

Yep,I agree with you buckeye......
We stayed in Casitas , by choice, in 2002.At the time it was the most appealing section to me and when we checked in we were placed in building 4.
We did have a bit of a walk to the Dig Site, but it was a very pretty peaceful walk around the lake, not bad because of that. The quiet pool was right around the corner from our room and Bust Stop 2 was fairly close.Transportation was the ABSOLUTE BEST we had ever experienced. The longest wait getting picked up at CSR for any destination was maybe 10 minutes. But my boys used that time to catch the little lizards that are abound in the landscaped areas of the parking lot.(Its a boy thing I guess,LOL ::MickeyMo )
Now it was also a bit of a hike to the Pepper Market area, but if you were not in a hurry, it was a gorgeous walk!
I'd say you could probably do it at a moderate pace in about 15 minutes or less.

I think everyone should give CSR a try! We just happened to be lucky this year and are able to swing a Deluxe in the budget, so we are trying WL. BUT,I would definitely choose CSR again for my #1 mod choice :teeth:

Thanks Buckeye! After reading your post and all the replies, I'm thrilled that DH chose CSR for our July trip. Yes that's right, I (the obsessive-compulsive/control freak/uber planner/Disney Nazi) let the indifferent/passive spouse pick the resort. He claims to know nothing about the differences with the various resorts (yeah right!), but he picked CSR because he said he thought it might be quieter, a little more "adult" than some others, and he remembered he really liked the Pepper Market from a trip 6 years ago! There may be hope for him yet!

Anyway, thanks again! Now I can REALLY hardly contain my excitement. We're leaving 1 month from today.
