Ok, for the longest time ( I've gone to Disney at least yearly since they opened. I remember the first year of DVC ) I felt like I didn't "need" DVC. I thought it was a great idea, mind you. Just not for me. However, I would never even consider staying off site.

Anyhoo, my sister, bought DVC a few years back. She's very careful with her points and gets huge milage from her investment. However, her kids are younger, I take scuba diving vacations etc etc. I still didn't "need" it.

This December, I joined my DS, my BIL and Mom and Dad on a trip to BWV the first week of Dec. It was, honestly, the most fun trip I remember in a looong time ( maybe forever ;) ) I decided that I did " need " to go to BWV each beginning of December with my family.

So I contacted TTS. Told them I needed 50 BWV points. No more. That way I could go Sun-Thurs every December and stay in a studio. I was on the way. :thumbsup2 Well, after further discussion with DH, and a call from my sister inviting me to Disney in June, I decided I didn't "need" 50 points. I "needed" 100 points. I'm currently waiting for ROFR on that contract.

Since then, I've decided that I "need" my December family trip, a June waterpark trip AND a May ( or other off month ) girls only trip. :scared1: You guessed it, folks. Without even trying, I now "need" more points than I wanted a contract for.

So, now I'm already talking about an add on and how many more points I'll "need" to do what I want with my new found addiction.

I just wanted to thank you all ( especially DVCNEWGIRL aka my dear sister ) for sucking me into your swirling vortex of Disneyism. Only took 20 plus years. :lmao:

Resistance is silly!! Welcome home!!!

Your story sounds so familiar. Originally I only needed 50 points to stay at BWV for 5 nights during Food and Wine. Then I decided I wanted to add some time the beginning of Dec. Then I wanted 5 days during Flower and Garden. I realized I needed more time at Food and Wine. Then I wanted friends and family along. So now 4 add ons later, I have 350 BWV points and I think I'm where I want to be. Famous last words...

Yup.....we so get it! Welcome Home.....

Resistance is futile......go for it!:lmao:

Resistance is futile!

Welcome to the club, and watch out for that addonitis bug.

Sounds about right. :goodvibes

Doesn't it though? There's something VEEEERY familiar about that story of "need".... Only difference is mine started with getting an AP just to take advantage of cheap airfare during the year if there was ever a time we could just book quickly and go. Next thing I knew, I "needed" to go at least twice each year!

OP, the bug has bitten and there is no going back. I've already found that add-on-itis is an incurable disease!
