Sorry about the disappearing act I pulled shortly after the Princess. Real life slammed in and things are slowly settling down. Thru it all though the Goofy has shone brightly in front of me so my training has been continous. Mileage is doing ok, getting in my gym days. Working on getting my pace faster. Last fall we found that a metro park worked well for us as it is a 6 mile loop around a lake. 2 weeks ago Susan and I found that if we did all the little parking areas around the lake we were getting in I think it was 11 miles with just one time around. I've been going out with Ray (dh) who is now also up to 12 miles for his long day and he pushes me to keep a pace that is currently just a bit slower than my current race pace so things in that department are coming along nicely. Hopefully soon we'll be able to do run further during our walks.
I have canceled all my 2009 races (thankfully hadn't registered for anything just dates penciled in) and my focus is totally on Goofy.
I need to look over the posts and see how everyone's training is coming, looking forward to being around more but for now the grocery shopping needs to be completed so i can do some miles tomorrow at least that part of real life is only an hour or so away
John/Karen? Suzie? I'd love to hear how the knees/legs are doing? Want to see John kick some asphalt and get that medal and Suzie I do believe it was a double dare from you (& Cindy) that had me signed up for this thing
Course Susan & Cathy can share the blame with you and Cindy
Now I have to go and read this Streaking
thing Mel is curious about, but 1st groceries because that might take awhile

I'm sure it will be a once a month visit at that. We will probably be at Dodge for a few of the shorter mile days. But another thing I like about Stony, I don't have to use OFF as much! Matter of fact i haven't used it yet at Stony but at Dodge I'd be eaten alive with it.

I always had it in my head 2010 would be my goofy year....now just gotta put in the training.
Though I hadn't planned on driving down for it this year. The training is going well. I managed to get in 37 miles (total) this past week so hopefully all will continue to go well and my pace will increase, my distance endurance will slowly build again and no injuries

I actually have 3 training buddies now. I have my poor hubby Ray (he was at the Turkey Trot too) out there doing miles with me. There are days he is pushing me and I'm being forced to jog to keep up, whining the entire way
