I'm officially a Premier Passholder!

For those of you who have it, tell me about the perks!

Also, how getting the Horror Nights ticket, free bottles of water, and stuff like that works.

Oh and when your Express kicks in at 4pm and your friends' doesn't, does it create problems when you leave them behind?

You need to log onto the passholder website on the USF.com site and see what's new for passholders. There are some pretty good February perks out right now. The only downside is is that the website isn't updated fast enough and often not until the month is almost over. I wish they would work on that. We are only preferred AP holders, and happy with that.

I love love love my Premier Pass. The valet parking alone makes it pay for itself, and the HHN tickets and water are merely added bonuses. You just have to ditch your friends or make them buy an Express Pass if they want to accompany you. DH and I both have Premiers so it works well for us. We were two of the first Premier Pass holders so the TMs often didn't know about the after 4 Express when we first started using it. We finally printed out a list of the benefits to show them. Now they all know exactly what it is and using it is a breeze. (Although it was pretty funny one day when a dude was arguing very heatedly with a TM at Dr. Doom, insisting his pass was Premier and that he be let into Express...and I walked up, whipped mine out, and said, "I don't think so...this is what a REAL one looks like"...he slunk off without another word.)

So most people are in the know about the benefits now?

My friend might get it too but she's most excited about having her picture taken for the pass again.

Yep, they were up to speed on the benefits within a couple of months, although sometimes they are confused on how to ring up the waters.

Here's a little trick if your friend gets a Premier too and you're faced with an insane valet line. I always use my Premier to "pay" for the parking of whoever is behind us while DH pays for our car with his, just as a random act of kindness. After one HHN the valet line was as long as the haunted house lines so I got a bright idea. Approached the person at the head of the line and asked if they would like free parking in exchange for me getting my car at the same time. Obviously I've never been turned down...if you have two Premiers, it can be your Express Pass for valet too on those busy days and you can make someone's day on the slower ones.

We haven't run into any trouble using the Express after 4p or the Valet parking. However, we were told twice on our last trip that we had to pay to upgrade to preferred parking in the garage - a quick trip to customer service refunded the $4 each time, but it was a pain. I also ran into cashiers giving us the preferred merch discount instead of premier so I'll know to be on top of that next time.

Heads up... The Universal web site now says that the Premier Express after 4p is no longer unlimited - only once per ride. Not necessarily a big deal, but still.

Why would anyone who is local buy the regular AP rather than the Premier? It's only $70 more and you get a free HHN ticket AND the free express after four? I guess maybe if you weren't going to HHN at all, I could see an argument, but it seems like the Premier pass should be a no brainer.

I just purchased a premier pass a few weeks ago - but have been using the premier parking instead of the valet as I'm unsure of the proper etiquette as regards valet parking...

Even though we are entitled to free valet parking with our pass, do you still tip the attendants? If so, do you tip when you leave your car with the attendant AND when you pick it up? Or just when you pick it up? AND, if you tip, how much do you tip each time?

Yeah, you tip both times. I would say $2-$3. Tip wouldn't be covered by your pass.

I think it is a personal choice as we don't tip when dropping off, but tip $5 when picking up.

Sorry...I'll stick to the Preferred. I don't care about Express after 4pm and free valet and those are the two bigger benefits. For what I use my AP for, it doesn't make sense to me to upgrade. What kind of pass do you have?
