going to WDW in 9 days

and two weeks after that...Im dropping everything and moving the family to philly for a new job

so much in so little time :scared1:

Wow, you've got a lot going on! Sounds exciting!! Where do you live now? I hope everything goes smoothly for you! :wizard: :wizard:

Welcome to Philly! Where are you moving from?

Im moving from York, PA...so not that far a move...just a significant "cost of living" jump

york is just boring to me...we love it over in philly

I'm right there with ya. Well, kind of...

We are closing on our new house on the 2nd of May, going to WDW in just over 20 days, and then coming home to pack and move all our stuff. The nice thing, however, is we are only moving a couple cities away.

I am sure that everything will go as it should! Best of luck with the move - let us know how it goes - and have a magical time on vacation!!! :wizard:

thanks, I hope it goes smooth as well

thing is, this is sort of sudden....we dont even have our house up for sale yet....but Im going to stay with friends during the week and work and come home to my family on weekends till the house is sold and they can get out there...hopefully it wont take too long

houses have been known to sell in mere days here

Even moving accross town is stressful so you have a right to be a little nervous about alot of things but taking a trip just before something major like a move is perfect!!! It will help you to relax and enjoy the family before the stress really hits. Just remember to breath...

Have a great vacation and good luck on the move!

We've had our house on the market for three weeks and are in the final stages of purchasing a brand new condo here downtown. We've been dealing with showings, choosing materials for the new place, loans, paperwork, etc. and in the midst of it all... THREE trips in four weeks! DH had two business trips, the first of which was to Germany (I tagged along on that one) and the second of which he returns from tonight. We leave Sunday for WDW and the press event, returning the 7th! Going away hasn't been too bad and it does keep your mind off things, but it was tough training the pet sitters on how to keep the house up for showings while we are gone. Once we return from Orlando, we'll just get to wait for the condo to be ready and hope our house sells soon. We can't move until mid June anyway.

You'll be doing a lot of livin' in the next week! :earsgirl: It's OK to be nervous, but remember to enjoy your very exciting life! (As I say to DH--"We're adults--the only thing we HAVE to do in life is work for a living--other than that, we do what ever we want--and we like our jobs--so life is GOOD.")

In October 2004 we moved (closed on both houses- sell and buy) on October 18th and left for WDW on October 23rd!!! Yep 5 days later.

Best of luck on you new move.

My Husband is leaving active duty Marine Corps after 13yrs!! (staying in reserves) We are packing on the 2nd and putting must of our stuff into storage. He has a pending job offer with Customs but they are under a hiring freeze right now due to restructuring. We have no idea where they will send him so in the meantime we are taking a few items and living with family. We were so hoping they would have started hiring by now. So in the middle of all this we are going on our first trip to Disney!! (May 8th) I am so looking forward to it but right now I am stressed to the max!! Good luck with your move and enjoy your trip

Good luck to everyone with major changes coming up! I wish I was there with you- I am looking to relocate to Arizona or New Mexico, but have been unable to find any positions that have relocation packages. Maybe one day....
pssst, if anyone in those states needs a manager for customer service/administrative/or office send me a pm :teeth:

Good luck with your move. I have to agree with you on the boring Yorl thing. I work in York and would not want to live here. I live in lancaster and my husband works in Philly. Connection all around.
Good luck!
Go Birds!

wow, drives from lancaster to philly every day? thats dedication

I live north of york and I like the little town I live in....but Im bored to tears here
