<font face="comic sans ms"> When I was driving the DumboMobile the other day, I came upon a construction zone. We all slowed down to about 10 miles per hour. I noticed that they were working on a huge hole in the right-hand lane. As I was passing the hole, I realized that a construction barrel was completely in my lane. So, a guy in the left-hand lane starts coming too close to me! So, I ended up running into the barrel, and it demolished my side view mirror. Demolished! So, I stopped and bought duct tape and Okie Fixed it. So, I go the mirror replaced today. Does anyone want to take a guess at how much my mirror was? </font>

I think that all of our cars are getting sick...lol.

I guess for the mirror and labor, etc...about $468.07.

ROFL I busted my driver's side mirror a long time ago. They wanted $400.00 to replace it!!! So, I IDA-Hickey-fixed it with clear packing tape! And that's how it is today.

When I 'clipped' some garbage cans a while back, when someone wouldn't give an inch, my mirror broke off also. It was a 'clean break' though and, D-FIL drilled some screws into it and it's fine now. No cost at all!

At least you hit the barrel. A few years back, DW Sue was passing a garbage truck when one of the garbage men appeared out of nowhere. Sue clipped his shoulder with the passenger side mirror and knocked the guy flat, destroying the mirror in the process. I guess that's why our 1998 van has foldaway mirrors.

BTW - The guy that Sue hit got up, brushed himself off, and didn't take us to court. So I guess he was OK.

I don't think I can take any more car trouble stories.

Car parts are SO expensive. I hit another car a few years ago and broke my headlight. $780 dollars. (When someone rear ended me about 6 months later, I was terrified that insurance would NOT want to total the car, but fix it. My boyfriend said that if it cost $700 for a headlight with no body damage, they could not afford to fix it. They did total it! LOL!!)
