That's right, when I'm at Disney World I wear a fanny pack. I never thought it was a big deal, other than the fact that my 15 year old son tells me it's decidedly "uncool." So what!, everything I do is "uncool" to him (except when I take him to Disney
).
Lately I'm even beginning to hear radio ads telling me how uncool it is to wear a fannypack. First of all, I wear it in the front, so it doesn't even touch my fanny. Second, you try lugging around asthma inhalers, an epi-pen, nasal spray, park tickets, a camera, assorted snacks etc. by putting them in your pockets. Especially in the summer, when all I want to wear to the parks are running shorts (and a shirt, I wouldn't ruin the magic of Disney for anyone by going topless
. And trust me, it would ruin the magic). I suppose I could ask my wife to lug all of my junk around, but she doesn't want to take a giant bag around the parks. I could also get a Seinfeld "man bag." Hey, it's European.
Anyway, I feel like I'm in some kind of support group (and maybe I am) but I'm a man, and I wear a fannypack. Anyone else out there?
