Weird question, but do you have recipes people enjoy but when you give them the cooking/baking directions they call you a liar?

Happens to me all the time.

Gave a girlfriend my peanut butter cookie recipe this afternoon and she yells in my face "LIAR!" :p

So what's your best unbelievable recipe?

I have a chocolate cake that I make from scratch. I give them the whole receipy and the instructions and yet for some reason it doesn't turn out. I wish I knew what was going on with that.

my Key Lime pie recipe. many people can't believe it's so easy. I didn't invent the recipe, I just use it. why would I lie?

alrighty. :)

nevermind, I don't want this thread moved because of me.

What prompted her calling you a liar? Did it not come out right for her or is it so simple that she can't believe it or what?

My aunt used to tell my dad that her pfefferneuse cookies were a secret recipe. The rest of us knew her recipe. You buy them at the store, take them out of the box and put them in a nice cookie tin. LOL

No one has ever believed me when I tell them how easy my crab dip is to make.

The recipe is ridiculously simple and is lacking the usual ingredients. (no flour)

It's the 2-2-2 peanut butter cookie recipe.
2 Cups Peanutbutter
2 Cups white sugar
2 eggs

Mix together, drop spoonfulls on cookie sheet, flatten with a sugared fork and bake.

TOOOOOOOOOO easy to believe! LOL LOL

I remember you posting that before. I couldn't remember what was unique about it-- I was thinking that you didn't bake it-- but no, it's that it has no flour. LOL

OOOHHH! Just my kind of recipe!! :bounce: How long does it bake for and what temp!? Sounds deliciously easy!! :smooth:

DonnaS, yep, I posted the recipe eons ago (and somewhere else, I think!!) You've sure got a great memory there! LOL LOL

Always Quiet, I can never remember the baking temp or times....isn't the usual cookie recipe approx 350 degrees for oh...maybe 10 minutes or so?
They are VERY tender cookies and it can be hard to tell when they're done...but I'd start checking at about 10 min and go from there.

Good luck if you try them. The dough is addictive, so don't even TRY that! :p

I've been posting on the DIS since 1998, and I don't remember seeing that recipe! That is one I'd probably use too because it's so dang easy! Was it posted here, or somewhere else?

I'm continually amazed at the memories of some people! I can't recall what I had for dinner last night, and others recall recipes from ages ago!

In all honesty, I didn't remember it until I saw it again and probably it was the uniqueness of the recipe that triggered the memory. And yes it was posted on another BB. :)

Edited to add that often I can remember knowing something and yet not know the details of that something. LOL

OK, I want that crab dip recipe PLEASE! I promise to believe ya;)
