OK - this is sooooooo silly, but I am soooo excited! I have just finished planning my first Disney trip all by myself!:bounce: :Pinkbounc I've made (and paid for) the AKL ressies, gotten park tickets, made PS arrangements (including Hoop Dee Do and a character breakfast and dinner), arranged for gift baskets to be delivered to hotel on arrival . . . so now I need all the experts to tell me what I have forgotten!:p DH and I are travelling with his parents so I really want to do this right and "convert" them into Disney lovers. I've always gone to WDW with my parents and even last year, when DH and I went for our 1st anniversary, that was a gift from my parents, so they did all the planning. Sorry - thinking of myself as a "grown-up married lady" still tickles me sometimes.

... but I do have to admit that planning it is a lot more fun than paying for it:eek: . DH is sorta in the dark about how much Disney vacations cost and I hope to keep him that way!;) It's not my fault if he doesn't ask.

When are you going?
Sounds like you have things pretty much under control.Maybe some of the experts will drop by here and give you some more advise.
Have a great trip and Enjoy being a grown up married lady!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Can I ask where you ordered your gift baskets? Im looking for one for My DD5s B-day. Thanks!

Doesn't sound like you've forgotten a thing! I went "by myself" for the first time last year, with my boyfriend. It was strange having to plan everything myself after 28 years of having my mom do it, but it felt good nonetheless!

:teeth:

Good job on planning your trip for the first time. I think you will enjoy it much more knowing all you did to plan ahead.
I would also like to know where/how you arranged for the gift basket to be in your room. That sounds really great and I would like to do that also.
Now who's the expert helping others to have an even better vacation??;) ::yes::

I ordered the gift basket from Jane at giftsofalifetime.com. She was really great to work with. She had a basic Romance basket (champagne, candles, chocolate truffles, and Mickey inspired wine glasses) and then I added a bobblehead baseball Mickey (we're going to some Braves spring training games), something African themed (since we're staying at AKL), and I'm sending her an Alice in Wonderland music box to include for MIL - who always loved Alice as a child and didn't have many toys.

For kids, I saw some really cute kids ideas on the website. One basket comes with Mickey ears, the autograph book and "fat" pen, and a lot of other stuff I can't remember. I would highly recommend using them. You can email her with ideas and she will customize the basket for you.

We leave March 25. I can't wait. I'm a teacher and a girl actually THREW A DESK ACROSS THE ROOM TODAY. Spring Break can't get here fast enough!

I got back on the website and looked. The "I'm Going to See Mickey" Gift basket has mouseears, EPCOT passport, autograph book and pen, Pressed penny book and 1 penny, and a "delicious surprise." It's $50 and can be delivered to any WDW resort. She also plans scavenger hunts through the parks and lots of other stuff.

I just got married on December 13, and I can totally relate to how strange it feels to be a married lady! It is so odd to introduce myself as a Mrs.!

Sounds like you've got everything in place for a wonderful trip to WDW. Have a fantastic time!

Congratulations! I'm excited, too! Eventhough I've planned a few vacations myself, planning our first Disney Vacation has by far been the most fun!!!
Have fun!
I know we will!::yes::

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I did all the planning for our WDW honeymoon in early Dec. 2002, and it felt GREAT. I felt strange being called "Mrs. Richoux" (REE-shoe--a Cajun-French name!), especially when I feel like such a kid at heart (I'm 25). I planned our WDW trip for last Oct., and I'll be the one to plan the rest of them in the future!! Have a great time planning! That is part of the fun and magical Disney experience (if you have the funds ;) )!

:wave2:

The first time DH referred to me as "my wife" I giggled for about 30 minutes. I think we were at dinner on our honeymoon.

I remember I had to call the reception hall the day after our wedding and I said to the person on the other line, " this is (my married name)" and it sounded so strange, but my husband was standing by me, and he got a big smile on his face! I'll always remember that!!!

Hope you have a great time :) I think most of us keep our spouces in the dark about the actual cost of a WDW trip ;)

Glo - thanks so much! That makes me feel a lot better! Of course, my DH is the same man who created a "budget" for us and set aside $100 a MONTH for groceries! I'm going to make a politically incorrect generalization and say that men in general have no idea what it costs to just buy stuff - everyday, ordinary stuff.;)

When I talk to DH about the price of plane tix, resort, Park Hoppers, I always start out by saying, "Cutie, I'm SAVING us SOOOO much money on this trip!" He says, "Women never mention how much they spend, but they RAVE about how much they SAVE!"

:wave2:

Leighe, we are going on the same day!! I am just as excited as you. See you at the Braves/Dodgers game! We are taking that one in. Thanks for the gift basket idea, contact and the baseball Mickey bobblehead idea!! Terrific!! ::yes::

NJB1148 - You will LOVE CBR. DH and I thought it was great! Shutters was actually pretty good.

I'm pretty sure we're going to the Dodgers game. I know we're going to see Mets game and the Indians game. We need big signs that say "DISer!";)

I ordered the 'I'm Going to See Mickey' gift basket for my son on our recent trip to DW. It was deliverd to our hotel, which he was just thrilled with. (It does cost around $20 extra to have it delivered to your hotel) All the products in the basket were/are really great, and the smile on his face was worth it all. By the way, he's 11, so you know this is the kind of thing that the 'big' kids love too.

I'm really glad your son enjoyed his birthday. I'm really excited to get there. I ordered a basket for our room too even though it won't be quite as much of a surprise!
