I'm 37 year old and just got called a hottie!

OK, I know this is silly, but I was dropping off ds8's friend at his house yesterday after taking them both to see "Miracle" (on a side note: GREAT MOVIE!) I walked friend to the door, and his college freshman brother was home for a weekend visit--I hadn't seen him since my weight loss. He just looked so much more grown up so I said to him, "Josh, I wouldn't have recognized you! You look so much older!" He replies, "Whoa, Miss Kim, I wouldn't have recognized you either!" He takes his brother in the house, I return to the car when Josh's mom comes running out. She says, "OMG! Josh just told me that you're such a little hottie!" A polite "thanks" and the obligatory shy blush, and I'm on the way home, all the while trying to restrain myself from stopping the car, jumping out and screaming, "A COLLEGE BOY CALLED ME HOT!!!" Now, I do realize that guys his age are pretty much attracted to anything with two X chromosomes, but I am taking this compliment and hanging onto it for dear life! I'm still all puffed up about it. Especially since the other day when DH (in this instance "D" does not stand for "darling") said to me, "You still have a lot of cellulite on the back of your thighs!" Believe me, I do know how goofy I sound, but this was one of those little celebratory moments that made me feel really happy. Thanks for putting up with such silliness...

Way to go Kim! Doesn't that feel great? It's funny you posted this because tonight in the health food store (yes, me in a health food store is a whole thread unto itself) I was at the checkout getting ready to leave, when I caught a guy in the next line checking me out. That hasn't happened in years! I know it's not weight loss because I haven't lost enough to notice, but my skin & hair are healthier looking now and my clothes fit better. The guy was my age (40's), so I don't think it's nearly as exciting as a college guy thinking you are a hottie, but it did make me smile all the way home.

That is such a great compliment and you do need to hold onto it for dear life. Being called a hottie by anyone would excite me. Now for the comment for the dH, don't let that get you down. You know that you are working hard at what you are doing and shame on him for making a comment like that. I'm sure if he looked hard enough, he might find something wrong with himself as well. Sorry, didn't mean to go off on him, but SHAME ON HIM is all I can say. Our spouses are suppose to support and lift us up and I feel so fortunate to have one of those.
