Feb 28th Monday EPCOT
After we left Animal Kingdom we continued on to EPCOT.
The line up at Spaceship Earth was huge, but I think that was because the ride had been taken offline for a short time and the crowds had starting accumulating.
I always like to do Spaceship Earth
, but I prefer to be able to just walk-on.
Instead, we thought we would try Mission Space, and luckily there was only a 5 min wait time, so once again, we did the mission
Today we had a 2:30pm PS at Biergarten, Germany so we didnt want to spend too much time in Future World. As soon as Mission Space was completed we made our way around World Showcase lagoon towards Germany. We actually arrived at the restaurant podium by 1:45pm but we decided to ask if it was possible to be seated (we were hungry) as it turned out, they werent too busy and we were seated very quickly.
The tables in the Biergarten mostly seat 8, so a party of 5 others to complete our table soon joined us. The other party was from South Africa and spoke German and English. The buffet was very satisfying and very reasonable for Disney (approx $15 each)
We enjoyed the entertainment that started shortly after we had started eating. It really does feel like you are in Germany!!! The couple seated across from me asked for a beer and received HUGE steins of beer. They both managed to drink it all during the course of the meal!!!
I would recommend Biergarten to anyone. We had a great time and think it was one of our best meals at Disney
Our bellys full, we left the restaurant and browsed the nooks and crannies of the Germany Pavilion.
The rest of the day was spent casually strolling World Showcase. We visited all the countries and experienced the rides at Mexico and Norway. We didnt watch any 360 moviess, as my kids have never liked it that you have to stand during the performance.
We did get back to Future World and managed to do Test Track with FP as well as Spaceship Earth and Journey into Imagination (why did they change this ride? I liked the old ride better)
Outside of the Imagination area where the jumping fountains are, my son had a small lizard just walk onto his hand. He had to ease the lizard off slowly, it didnt want to leave!
Just as he had managed to get the lizard to go into some greenery, he got caught by one of the jets of water from the jumping fountains and got soaked!!!
We finished up our day by watching Illuminations
(2nd time this trip) I never get tired of watching this show.
But I do miss the Tapestry of Nations Parade with the huge puppets
Another day over, we make our way to the parking lot in search of the car.
Today was a loooong day, but a happy, satisfying day
Tomorrow, we can sleep in (yeah!!!)
