Illunminations Cruise - Best Restaurant?

I will shortly be trying for an Illuminations Cruise for 4th Jan to celebrate DH's 50th Birthday and would like recommendations for a restuarant close by the Yacht & Boat Club Marina. Also included are DD (16) and DS (13).

As this will be a secret cruise my plan is to have a nice meal, wander to the marina and then surprise him by getting on the boat (which if I am successful, will be decorated etc).

Although we have been to WDW before we have not been around this area and I am unsure of the distances involved between resorts/restaurants so would really appreciate you help so that I can at least make and ADR and keep my fingers crossed for the cruise!

The restaurants in the Y & B are lovely. There is the Yachtsman's Steakhouse, Yacht Club Galley and the Cape May Cafe all are lovely and you can just walk outside to the marina.

The Yachtsman is a very good restaurant and will accommodate if you mention the IC.

Due to the timing of the IllumiNations cruise, you will need to have an early dinner. We've done four now and we always gather at the marina at around 8pm. I would suggest a 6pm ADR to be on the safe side.

Any of the restaurants at the Yacht and Beach Club, the BoardWalk or the Swan and Dolphin would be suitable - all are situated around Crescent Lake and are within easy strolling distance of the Y&B marina.

You are absolutely spoilt for choice. My favourites are Flying Fish Cafe at the BoardWalk and bluezoo at the Dolphin. Both are at the fine dining end of the scale. We've also enjoyed meals at Shula's (steakhouse at the Dolphin - very expensive), Spoodles ('Mediterranean' and tapas at the BoardWalk), ESPN (Sports Bar with typical fayre - wings, burgers, nachos, etc - at the BoardWalk) and Crew's Cup Lounge (the bar adjoining Yacthsman's Steakhouse at the Yacht Club). I wouldn't rush back to Cape May Cafe, Beaches and Cream or Big River Grille and Brewing Works, although I suspect you are looking for something a bit more upmarket than any of these, anyway.

Thanks for all your help. I've looked at the menus and think I will go for the Flying Fish Cafe as the food here will suit the whole family.
