Illuminations Question:

Illuminations is my absolutel favorite show..I just love it!! Everytime we have always gone, we have gotten a table at the Mexico cantina outside and was able to watch the show pretty well for the most part. Our last trip, some really mean man stood right in front of us, so we could not see thing. We asked him very politely if he could either sit down or move a little, and he just totally went off me. I was so upset that I didn't get to enjoy the Illuminations show.

I was thinking maybe we could try watching the show from a different angel, so anyone of you Disney experts know of the best place to watch Illuminations? And what time should we head in that directions? Or any Illuminations viewing secrets that you are will to share with me?

I was thinking about the cruise, but I am looking at other options besides the cruise, because I am sure I am too late to book as we leave in a few days.

Thanks!!!

You may be able to share a cruise. There is a thread somewhere. It is the best way to see it IMHO!

Okay, here's my little Epcot secret....
This is one I bet you haven't heard before...
If you watch illuminations from the Future world side of the lake (between those two little gift shops) you will be surprised to see a beautiful star in the sky near the end of the illuminations show when they are shining the lasers up into the sky. At one point there are five lasers that all point upward and they form a 5 pointed star! You cannot see this star from anywhere else because you have to be right in the middle there to see it at the correct angle. I have talked to cast members while waiting for the show and most of them don't even know about it. I have pictures of it from our last trip. We always try to see illuminations from there now. We used to go over on the bridge between UK and France but we like to look up and see the star now!!:wizard:

pssssst...
wanna know a secret?
a great place to see illuminations is right in front of xxxxxx.
don't tell anybody, but you are so close to the fiery barge you can almost roast marshmallows. shhhhhh! don't let this out. there are many audio speaker stands nearby and one of the torches (that also have built-in sub-woofer speakers) is right there, so you get the "full effect" of the beautiful score.
hey, don't give out this stuff, but the view is nearly unobstructed, yet you are sheltered by overhead trees, its a beautiful spot. i could tell you where this is but my dw said not to leak it.
we have seen this version of illuminations at least 25 times... about 15 of those from this "sweet spot". we have even taken the illuminations cruise (very cool) but our spot is almost exactly the same quality view as from those cruise boats that tie-up under the bridge near the int'l gateway. the difference is our secret spot is exactly on the opposite side of the lake and costs about $120 less to see.
don't let me catch anyone spreading this to others, but here's a hint: if you ride backwards toward a waterfall, and look directly over your shoulder... just before you fall into a storm, you will see our secret spot.

there. keep it quiet!
