Best restaurant and time to watch illuminations?

Just my two cents...........

We like to eat a nice dinner in the Boardwalk area......Usually the Yachtsman (because of the DVC discount perk)......and then hop the Illuminations Cruise from the dock at the Yacht Club.........the cruise gives you the "best seat in the house".............


And the Yachtsman Steakhouse has some pretty darned good food...........

Well, the best time is at 9:00 pm.

Only restaurant from which you can actually see the show is Rose and Crown, sitting outside. However, Illuminations can be viewed from anywhere around the World Showcase lagoon, so dinner anywhere at WS or in the Epcot Resort area, with a stroll out to the lagoon afterwards is wonderful.

I prefer the resort restaurants and would recommend Yachtsman Steakhouse, Flying Fish or Palio.
