Okay, this will be my third trip to the world (12/8 - 12/15) but I have never seen illuminations. We're going to try for a cruise but I've heard that it's nearly impossible to get. So, my question is, can you see the show from anywhere in the park? I don't have to have the best spot, just somewhere that me and my DS5 can see. Also, how far in advance do I need to get there. We will be arriving that day around 5:30 into the airport, then heading right over to Epcot. Will I have enought time after checking in to the hotel and then taking a bus over?

Yes, you can see the show from all around the World Showcase. I definitely reccomend it as we think it is the best fireworks show/ evening show out of all of the ones in WDW.

Hey there. :wave2:

You really need to be somewhere back in the World Showcase to see Illuminations. My favorite spot is right in front of Italy against the railing. That location gives you a clear view of everything happening on the water and the surrounding areas. I think most people usually start getting spots around the lagoon by 8 - 8:15pm-ish.

If you're plane lands at 5:30 there are so many factors between you and your final destination that it's kinda hard to say if you'll make it in time. If everything goes according to plan, you should be okay!

Have a great time!! :thumbsup2

I suggest putting your DS5 on your shoulders. It's a good way for a little one to see the show. Just remember that the show does not end with the globe. We see so many people leave early thinking it's over. As a fist timer at Illuminations-don't fall into that trap. Wait until they say it's over.

Sorry-this is a third post. I moticed you are going to be there for the special ending. It is remarkable, I hope you enjoy it, along with all the other holiday themed locations. During the evening take a peek at the Lights of Winter on the area between FW and WS.

On another note, where are you staying? I can't really help with the timing unless we know where you have to go. I am also assuming that you will want to eat somewhere, either TS or CS. If time is tight, as you suggest, I'd pick a nice World Showcase counter service and eat while you wait for the show. It's a way to secure a spot for the show. Enjoy your trip.

Italy is great, as said, also in front of Germany, to the right some, with you facing teh water. Also the arwa between Mexico and Norway, in front of the area by Norse ship.

And yes, again, as said above, make sure you don't move until the show is TOTALLY over, you will be AMAZED!! :cool1:

You'll be there when they do the holiday ending. And they also move the starting time back to 9:30 so you'll have an extra half hour. Our favorite spot is in Germany and then we just stroll out and let the crowds rush by us. I do warn you, though. If you see this your first night, you'll want to see it again.
