On DD's b-day we will be at BLT & Epcot. Do you think we could watch Illuminations & when it is over book on back to BLT to see Wishes from Top of the World where we can eat her b-day cake? Yes this IS crazy but is it doable? :lmao:

We are eating at LeCellier for lunch & Chefs de France for dinner & do not want the cake delivered either place.

I forgot to mention - Illuminations is at 9 & Wishes is at 10 that day.

Will you have a car? I have never tried it but one thought would be to try parking at BCV and enter Epcot through the International Gateway, do whatever in Epcot and watch Illuminations near the IG exit then book it back out to BCV and drive over to BLT in time for Wishes.

If you have to use Disney transportation I don't think you could do it with the crowds all exiting Epcot after Illuminations.

No car............we will be monorailing it.

I wonder how long Illuminations is.

Taxi is approx $12, not including tip. It's definitely the fastest way after Illuminations.

You would have to be really fast and lucky. Illuminations is about 20 min. Last time we stayed at Blt and watched illuminations, we saw wishes going on while we were transferring monorails at the ttc. Id say if you are going to try, be sure to watch illuminations from the entrance to world showcase and be ready to make a mad dash to the monorail when it ends - no stops for anything on your way. If you don't have to wait too long for either monorail, it could work.

If your plan is really important to you the best thing is to spring for the cab from BCV to BLT. Watch Illuminations from the bridge between England and France and then book it out the Int'l Gateway to BCV.

This is probably the best way to get what you need. The Epcot monorail could be backed up if you don't get there immediately after Illuminations. So you might have to wait for a monorail or two - that puts you about 30-40 minutes after Illluminations to get to TTC. Then you have to take the resort monorail that stops at Polynesian, GF, MK and finally at CR. Probably another 15-20 minutes. Then you have to walk over to BLT and catch an elevator up to the TOTWL. Maybe another 10-15 minutes. And, you've missed Wishes.

I agree with others that the only chance of doing it is to hurry from Epcot thru IG to the Beach Club and get a taxi from there to BLT.
Cab fare should be $20 +/- including tip. (it's a 5.5 mile ride)

Illuminations over at 9:20 +/-, 10 minute walk to the BC walking fast, 15-20 minute taxi ride to BLT assuming you don't have to wait for a cab.

Thank you all! :goodvibes

The more I think about it the more it seems like it will be WAY to stressful, so we will have her cake the next evening at TOTW.

If you change your mind again and decide to try it please report back so we all know whether that strategy works or not. Have a great time!

I think not adding the stress would be nice gift.:lovestruc

I have often found what I think would be exciting is just why too much stress for the rest of my family.

Both shows are so wonderful, take time to enjoy them both.

My children love watching the "good night" in different languages on the Epcot a ball and have become very upset with me for trying to rush them past it.

Sorry to say, I have also experienced watching Wishes while in the monorail. I would think it would be very difficult to make the trip by monorail in time.

Do they do cakes at TOWTL? I didn't know that was even an option.

I am THAT person. You know, the one who tries to cram everything in, while my family just tries to keep up. I am learning though :teacher: that was why I asked before planning it & judging by everyones response her b-day cake will have to wait.

They do not have cakes, but Brian at the Comtemporary does the cakes there - you need to order one ahead of time. I am torn between ordering the chocolate slipper, or a mini cake/cupcake. With all our snack credits it seems silly to order anything, but it is her 13th b-day so something small should do. If you are interested there is a great thread about the different bakeries, who delivers to which park, who the contacts are - basically the everything you need to know about cakes at WDW here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2413710
