I got the idea from reading on here to try to stake out a spot at the counter service mexican food place at Epcot to watch Illuminations. Of course we will be eating and not just taking up space. But I also read of people coming in at the last minute and standing between your seat and the rail. I can't remember just how far the seats are from the rail and will have to look back at some pictures when I get home. What would you do to avoid someone doing this? Is the rail close enough we could just turn sideways and put our feet at the bottom of the rail? I really don't want to have to get rude but ask my son or husband. I can do it if I have to :rotfl:

I'm not a fan of Cantina San Angel for IllumiNations for that very reason. Yes, you can try to arrange your chairs to take up space, yes you can 'push back', but in my experience it's a losing battle. People who want to push their children (and eventually themselves) in between you and the railing are going to do it. It just leads to frustration, anger and no enjoyment of the show.

As nice as it is to sit down for the show, you're better off staking out a spot where you CAN be right up against the railing. I know it sounds unbelievable, but every time I've tried the Cantina route, people have pushed in 3-deep in a space that should not fit one person. They literally just push you back out of the way, chair and all. :furious:

Italy is my favorite place to watch. Maybe i'm biased...lol. Grab yourself a Napeoleon, and an espresso and have a great viewing

Could you move the entire table up near the railing?

We love to watch Illuminations from the bridge between France and the United Kingdom, but it's been getting crowded there the past two years we've been.

Don't flame me--but no show is worth the aggravation some people cause or experience to see it. But it does seem to be pretty important to a lot of folks. We enjoyed world showcase until 20-30 mintues before then found a spot near the American pavillion. We could see fine.

And I believe the seats are BOLTED to the Concrete now, so you cannot MOVE them. ;)

if ya got one- stick a big ol' stroller in the space right in front of you. put your back pack next to it. and spread out a poncho there and have your kid sit on it????????????
