They don't take requests for specific rooms. They allow for you to request specific views but don't even guarantee that. Can you imagine if ten other people arriving at the same time as you requested the same room? About the best you can do is familarize yourself with the resort and at check in be prepared in a really nice way, to ask for a different room, in an area that you would like, if the room you are assigned is not to your liking. Sometimes it works, other times if the resort is full it doesn't. But hey, your at WDW. What's bad about that?

 thank you hbc, we kinda figured that, but , reading some of these posts, people state exactly where (and which room they were) and we know thats not always possibe. Your right we`re in our favorite place ::yes:: --so its all good!!

Just can`t wait to get there!, tired of the winter!!

I was sort of concerned about the same thing and booked 11 months out, day by day, showed up early the day of check-in, etc. During check-in, the first room would have been facing the parking lot, but on the fifth floor, so I asked if there was any other rooms where we could see the fireworks. She clicked a couple keys and gave us a different room, this time a first floor room, facing Epcot. I was sort of suspicious that we would not really be able to see the fireworks from a first floor room, but we took it. It turned out we could see some lights and flashing, etc. but that's all. It also turned out we were so busy every time it came to that time of night, it didn't matter. Instead, what I learned was that I want a room that's not 12 miles from StormAlong Bay. :)

By the way, I heard that they will let you into Epcot through the International Gateway at about 8:45PM or so to see Illuminations (without using a park ticket). Does anyone know if this is true? Being that BCV are pretty close, it would be an easy walk, and might soften the blow of not getting an "Illuminations View" room for those who really wanted it.

JMHO -

I would consider it more of a sporadic fireworks view than Illuminations from where I was. You could only see the high fireworks and here the music. I don't know if it is better in the closer building but I certainly wouldn't make an effort to see it from my balcony again. (room 269 - maybe higher floor is better?)

studio dedicated 561 - great view - you also have the best view (my opinion) period - because you get to see the Spaceship Earth each and every day!!!

Just ask for a view of Epcot as high as possible. (I asked for FW - because I just Love Spaceship Earth!!!!) - soon others ask for WS and probably get a better view of Illiuminations.

remember that the fifth floor is by far the smallest - but it has the best views.

Oh this room was also great - because across a small hall - there is another elevator.

hi Pat J (spicecat)
Can you please explain if you meant "The square footage of each unit on the 5th floor is smaller- or- the amount of units on the 5th floor are less????

this is the first dvc vacation for us, i`m sure we`ll love everything about bcv, i`m just a person that likes to get all the details, and really i just love talking about it to others who feel the same way!!

thank you so much

maria

I think there are fewer rooms on the top floors of VWL and BCV.

Anyway...I had a room on the third floor near but on the opposite side of the poolside elevator (which I think is the one referred to). I had a good view of the high fireworks. And oddly at 11:30PM a good half hour view of test firing of fireworks.

During the day I had a view of the back road, the rear end of the Land and the lagoon...including reptiles. My room was right over that section of BCV that straddles the water.

A great deal of illuminations is not visible except within the park. But you can see it quite clearly from the bridge between BCV and BWV if your room isn't in a good location to see it from there.

...As an aside...how frequently is anyone actually in their room at 9:30 if they are only down for a week?

doubletrouble_Vb is correct the floor itself has less rooms.

the room did overlook the service road - it services the FW pavillion on that of Epcot.

But I didn't care - I love watching Spaceship Earth.

Doubletrouble_VB it depends upon who you travel with - kids or the elderly - believe me you will back in your room by then.

Mother is 82 and I have problem even kepting her awake past 8:00pm and she only get up at 7:30 am each morning.

Kids also needs more sleep.

Hi all,

We stayed in the villas, room 475, in a
studio during Feb. and had a great view
of the fireworks and spaceship earth. My
kids 7 & 3 thought it was cool to be able
to see epcot. We watched the fireworks
about 3 nights out of the 6 we were there.
This room is way down the hall from the
main elevators but not to far from the elevator
that comes out by the pool. We used this
elevator the whole time. Having this room
with this view was worth it to us. It just made
our trip.

Thank you all!!
I am soo happy to read your views & experiences as you all enjoyed looking out over your Balconys @ BCV. It`s been taking me away from the very dreary day here in new jersey!! I thought Spring started!!!????

Wishing for August!

We were there a month ago. We had guests for part of the trip, so went from 2br to 1br. The 2br was 467 with Epcot FW view, and the service road. The 1br was 529 with Epcot WS view, and no service road. As someone else mentioned, we only saw the high fireworks in illuminations, and that was on the 5th floor. Still it was pretty nice. One night we stood on the bridge between BC and BW. There was quite a crowd there and it was a nice view.

: I`m just looking at the member guidebook, and I realize that all these views that we`re talking about - are on the other side of the Dunes Cove Pool- (am I right??)- Therefore I think I might make this mention to ms, as we requested an upper floor- but with a pool view!!

We have had an illuminations view as well and loved it. We have kids ages 6 and 7 and we were back to the room 8 of the 10 nights by 8:30 to take a bath and then be in our pjs to watch the fireworks beforing going to bed. Once the kids are older and we stay out later, the illuminations view won't be as important to us, but right now it is definately a huge plus.

You are correct, the illuminations view is on the opposite side of the resort as the pool.

Hi Terry,
do they mind if you call and change your mind where you would like your view??? I hope it dosn`t form a problem?

thanks,
maria

If you get a pool view- you'll get to see the fireworks from WIshes at the MK! We had a great view from our pool view room in January- so either way you'd see fireworks!

:lovestruc WOW!, How great is the BCV!!?? No matter which side of the resort - your able to injoy a fireworks show at the end of a zipadeedooda Day! We`re sooo impressed!! Thank you all soo much !

Membership services does not mind if you call and change your requests. But as others have mentioned, they are only requests and BCV will do thier best to honor them, but they won't be gauranteed. But, as I always say, it doesn't hurt to ask.

I have not had the pool view, but it sounds as if it would be nice as well, the fireworks would be much closer at Epcot than at MK, but it sounds like you win either way.

So Maria, I was just wondering, did you make your first trip? Did you stay in a studio? What room number did you end up and how was your stay?
