Hi All!

I'm looking for opinions ... we are planning a stay at the Pop in September 2008. :cool1: We'll be travelling with my 2 boys (2 and 4), my sil and my niece who is 8. At first I was very excited about the prospects of the Illuminations view, since my husband and I will probably be at the room with our little ones most evenings. However, now I'm thinking about the walk all the way back to the room. I need to tap into the great knowledge of the Pop lovers ... is the Illuminations view worth the extra walking when you have 2 toddlers and an 8 year-old? TIA!

Up to you. All you see is three relatively short fireworks displays in the distance - you really don't get the full effect of Illuminations.

it's not really worth the walk daily - get a closer room and just walk over one night to see them from the balcony

In order to see Illuminations, you need to be inside Epcot, standing near the World Showcase lagoon. Part of the show includes fireworks, but most of the show (globe, fire, water, light effects) takes place right on the water, and can't be seen at all from outside the park. It's not like Wishes, which is a fireworks show and can be seen clearly from many places near the MK.

All you'd see from Pop are a few of the higher fireworks - only a few minutes worth. Not at all worth giving up a more conveniently located room, IMO.
