I just booked a cruise for wishes in August but am wondering if I should have booked it for Illuminations. In your opinion is one better than the other? Why? What does the cruise entail? This is probably our last trip for a couple years so I am looking to pack in as much magic as possible. Thanks for the input!

I have never done a wishes cruise, only illuminations. It seems to me wishes is mostly in the air(you are looking up) and a lot of illuminations is on the water. we showed up for our cruise early and our driver let us go out early (extra time-no extra money and we didn't come back early). She let all the kids take a turn "driving" the boat. Sge gave us a little tour told us inside info-very interesting. then we parked under the bridge for fireworks and she passed out soda and chips. If it is a chilly night I would suggest calling ahead and asking for hot cocoa. have fun! don't forget some cash for tipping.

We have done both and will not do the wishes again. The boat we had there was no music you have to pay extra for sound. This we were not told of till to late.Everything low on the ground you miss like tinkerbell. Like the Ecpot more you have a real close view and can see everything.

When are you going in A :cheer2: :cheer2:  :cheer2:  :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

we have also done both. We have done Illuminations 3 times wishes once. Was'nt to impressed with wishes.I would say definately say Illuminations.(sorry) we are Waiting to book Illuminations for Oct.

Love the cruise don't like the price change too high of a jump. :cheer2: :grouphug:  :cheer2: :grouphug:

We've done both and they both have good points to do each. I enjoyed the wishes cruise because we were able to cruise bay lake and the seven seas lagoon. The music was out of sync but the view and closeness to the loading docks in front of MK was nice. Have shared every cruise with fellow Dis'ers.

The Illuminations cruise was nice, but if the winds blowing in your face you will eat some smoke. THe chance you take. But the inferno barge warms you right up on a cold night. We cruised around the world showcase and got some good video.

Overall, now that the prices have gone up and the number of people I think are limited that can go on cruises will curtail our cruises. We enjoyed them, but not at that price anymore. I say do both and form your own opinion. We do that for most things at WDW. Everyone's expectations are different. Have fun with whatever your choice.

Just did a Wishes cruise on 5-15 and LOVED it. Our captain Michelle was great. We did cruise around Bay lake and Seven Sea Lagoon. She showed us the 'shoe tree" and told us lots of interesting things about WDW. I loved seeing WL and the Contemp from the water. She parked us in front of MK and we did have sound on our boat. It didn't seem out of sync at all. We saw Tink flying and the fireworks were great!! DH arranged for a birthday cake and champagne as it was my 30th. We also got to park right in front of the Electrical water pageant too...I've never seen it so close. All in all, it was an incredible night.
