Illuminations from Rose and Crown

I understand they do not take specific requests for the Patio seating at rose and crown. Its purely luck. What are my best chances for getting seated outside? Is it worth asking? And can i tell them i am willing to wait for a patio to become available? Also, what time should i make my ADR

Absolutely!!!! Ask! Our first trip was Dec. 05 and we had an ADR at the Rose & Crown. We checked in about 15 minutes early and asked about the patio. It wasn't available. I asked if we could wait since my little one was passed out in his stroller at that time anyway and they said yes. We were seated within 30-45 minutes and it was great. They had heaters going because it was a little chilly and when the fireworks began, our waitress (Hilda, I believe) realized that my young ds was terrified of the sounds and took him inside to play with his choo choo while we watched the show with our older ds. She completely made our night and we loved the restaurant. We'll go back in a heartbeat when we have another family vacation there in 2010.

You can always ask, but my understanding is that over the last few years they have been telling people they need to take the next available table for their party size. Too many people are willing to wait.

We just had dinner there in August.

Our reservation was 7:15, and we were seated inside at about 7:30 or so. The server made a point to tell us not to hurry through dinner, and he'd take us to watch Illuminations. So we ate a leisurely meal, and as we finished at about 8:45, he walked us over to the patio viewing area, and we watched the show which started at 9:00. It was fine. Sure, sitting on the patio would have been nice, but we liked our view from their reserved area, too.

Even if you sit inside they will allow you to go out onto the deck area and stand and watch Illuminations. This past July we ate inside and our dessert came just shortly before the show started. Our server was so sweet! She found an available table for us out on the deck and had us take our dessert out there to enjoy the show! It was a magical moment for sure!
