Illuminations / Disney Wishes / Fantasmic

Rankings:

1. Illuminations-best music, choreography, and fireworks--best overall and in every aspect

2. Wishes-Great, but not at Illuminations level

3. Fantasmic-It's okay. We do it once every few trips. We usually spend 1/2 to 3/4 of our evenings at Epcot.

This is a very very hard question to answer. All of them are outstanding and I recommend going to all, but if you absoloutely must, skip illuminations. I say this because Fantasmic is an awesome show that to me is worth the price of MGM admission by itself, and I would rather see the wishes with the castle in the background which just may be a little more memorable than illuminations. But don't get me wrong, Illuminations is also a very very very good show. I just can't imagine seeing illuminations, and not seeing Wishes too.

Great rankings!! Illuminations is (IMO) definitely the best nighttime show :)

I think you're going to get a lot of varied responses. If at all possible, I'd catch all three! But, if I had to choose just two and it would be my first time seeing them, I'd go with Fantasmic and Wishes. Fantasmic because its a great show and Wishes because its at MK and what's more Disney than the castle and fireworks? I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you choose, though!

If you have a park hopper ticket, I've been told that there's time to walk from Fantasmic to Illuminations and catch both (about a 25 minute walk). We're planning on doing that on our last evening. Just make sure you're seated reasonably close to the exit for Fantasmic to get a head start on the crowds. I certainly wouldn't want to miss any of the 3 shows as they are all amazing.

If I had to make a choice, the order of preference would be:

1. Illuminations ( during our tirp we ususally see this twice )
2. Wishes ( ususally twice also )
3. Fantasmic ( once every few years )

This is my choise:

Illuminations (have to see this at least twice)
Wishes ( at least twice)
Fantasmic (love this show but only see it once every couple of years. Don't always want to do the dinner package at the resturants that are on the package. Would rather do 50's Prime Time. So we feel the wait could be quite a while in the stadium to be able to sit where we want.) This may sound weird, but I don't know how else to explain it.

Iluuminations and Wishes. I'm one of the few who didn't think Fantasmic was all that great. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again.

Must see - Fantasmic and Wishes (in no particular order).

If you can make it (eg. have time to get to Epcot after Fantasmic, either walking or by boat), then go see Illuminations as well. But Illuminations would be the last priority for me.

Illuminations is the best followed far behind by Wishes. We are not big fans of Fantasmic.

It all depends on the time of year.

Both shows can start at about the same time in the Summer, and too close together to get from one to the other at some other times of the year.

1. Illuminations
2. Wishes
3. Fantasmic

I was really disappointed in the WDW Fantasmic. I think the DL one is so much better.

I think it depends on the age of people in your party. Illuminations, to me, is more adult and doesn't offer much for little ones.

My ranking would be
1. Wishes
2. Fantasmic
3. Illuminations

My daughter loves Fantasmic. Loves Sorcery Mickey and seeing all the villians.

I think Wishes is the must see of the 3.

My vote is:
1. Wishes (duh)
2. Fantasmic
:thumbsup2
In May we saw Fantasmic for the first time. I really did not know what to expect and was just kind of "whatever" but it is GREAT! I too love Sorcerer Mickey and the villains. Top notch. I really really liked the glow in the dark snake!! Plus I think it gave Sorcerer Mickey a special place in my heart. :goodvibes Which is why I am going to get the Sorcerer Pal Mickey six months before we even go!!
