Illuminations dessert party

I went about 2 weeks ago... After listening to Pete's review on the podcast, I had second thoughts, but I stuck with it. DGF says we're going, we're going! ;)

In the end, I don't think it's worth it, but I'm happy I went once. The donuts and churros cooked in rum are very good. The other desserts were pretty good. Fruit was also available. I noticed that they kept the dessert table pretty well stocked till the end of Illuminations, so I helped myself to some cookies to go.

The drink selection is poor. Water, lemonade and pretty bad sparkling wine. I saw tea and coffee, but not many people partaking...

I noticed a mobility limited guest at the party, and I must say, it looked like the cast members were really making it magical for her. They brought out a nice plate with a sampling of the desserts, and drinks. And checked on her about every 10-15 minutes.

VERY good location to watch the fireworks... I've seen Illuminations dozens of times, and it's always a great show. The location of the party is nice, mostly because there's plenty of room without having to feel like if you move, someone will take your spot.

For $50 per person, you can certainly get better dessert and drink, but it's still a good time, and a nice relaxing way to enjoy Illuminations.

Went the very first night. Cost too much dresser not many choices and I do not drink. But the fireworks was just wonderful and can't wait to do it again.:dance3::cutie::love:

For folks who will be down during F&W, I HIGHLY recommend the 3D Dessert party if they offer it this year. If it's like previous years, it will be during most Friday nights at the World Showplace. Last year tickets were $55, so it was reasonably priced. The food / dessert selection was decent, but the liquor selection was amazing! All you can drink from various whiskeys, dessert wines, 20+ types of vodka ... live band during the event, and then you get reserved Illuminations viewing after.

The Sweet Seats option was $90, and worth it in my opinion. For the $90, you get a reserved seat to sit at in private roped area that included a private bar and dessert stations just for the sweet seat areas. This included a choc souffle and Double Choc. stout only available to the sweet seats. You also get 15 minutes early entry to the event.

If you're not big on alcohol it may not be worth it, the 3D party was a great experience based on the cost and drink selection. Curious to see what the price may be this year if they offer it, knowing how much the standard Illuminations dessert party is being offered at.
