The only two available spots for a group of our size (13) would be Morocco or Japan. Apparently there is no seating at Morocco. How is the viewing at both places and would you do Morocco with no seating?

I'm still on the fence between this and Wishes Dessert Party!

Do you know if there are minimums and what they are? If I do a non disney photo then I will have a couple thousand to burn....maybe-

Allisonswonderland - the Disney website actually has information on the site about prices. Under reception there is a summary of Illuminations parties, and it explains about the min. and a few other price points. Also www.yourfairytale.com has info about the parties.

Just bumping this back up to see if anyone has any opinions on either of these locations. I looked at the EPCOT map and they are basically beside each other, so I guess the only difference is that Japan has seating and Morocco doesn't???????????

mommypoppins - which has a better view? if the views are the same i would go with seating in japan since it would be more comfortable for you & your dressed up guests. ask your em for their opinion.

allison - my dp is costing us $2598 for 52 at uk with the child in you menu plus bride & groom strawberries & i think its worth every penny.

40 days to go! :bride:

I have booked Japan Terrace for our dessert party in October as we also only have a small group attending. Now I am not sure if there is more then one venue option for Japan, but I was told there would be no seating when I booked it so check with your EM on this one. I was trying to also find out information on this spot for our dessert party but really couldn't find much info. My EM told me it was the same spot that they do the drumming in Japan, although this didn't help me as I am ashamed to say I couldn't remember. In the end and with such a small group we didn't really have a lot of options so I decided to book it anyway.

Is there no way of adding seating? i was told that you add seating to some areas for an addittional charge?

What is the Wishes dessert party option? I hadn't heard that one before...and I think Wishes is much more powerful than illuminations !

Unfortunately, according to my EM, they are no longer doing Wishes Dessert Parties at the Grand Floridian Marina.

So, I am back to the Illuminations Party--probably at Japan since we can have seating there. Just have to decide if I want to spend the additional $1,000. Or, see if we can get two of the basic boats for the Wishes cruise.

Where exactly are the locations within the pavilions? Are they down near the water? I assume that the Morocco site is near the boat dock. I'm trying to think of a Japan spot that has a clear line of sight. If you know exactly where the spots are, I may have pictures of the locations and the view from them.

Morocco

Japan - I assume we would be on the first level of the building since the picture is of the building and not towards the water???

The first level of the building IS where they play the drums...I think someone up above said that the area was where the drums are played?

This is from the email my EM sent to me:

4. The only appropriate and available locations are at Morocco or Japan. Seating can not be accommodated at Morocco, so the set up fee does not apply.

I took that to mean that seating CAN BE accommodated at Japan? What do you all think?

Thanks Codie! I'm still waffling on spending the extra $1k but I might as well have all the info to make my decision.

Well, she just confirmed that she had made a mistake and there is no seating at either Morocco or Japan, they would simply put the dessert tables on the first floor of the building. If there is no seating, I'm not sure I see the point of spending the money for a dessert party. Other than wearing my dress, I can walk into EPCOT and stand and watch Illuminations any time.

I'm so confused about what to do after dinner.

Boy, Mommy Poppins, I am so sorry to hear that. Do you think that is because you are an "intimate" and not a "custom" FTW couple? I am confused. Disney has been changing the rules on a lot of things lately and it is getting impossible for me to keep up with what is and is not allowed. My head is spinning.

It appears that I am not the only one confused by all the recent rule changes -- your EM appears to be confused too. (In an odd way, that makes me feel a little better.)

At my dessert party (which was held at the GF's marina), tables and chairs were set up for my event (my Event Manager did a lovely, lovely job with the theme of my event). I myself didn't sit down because I was too busy mingling with my guests (I didn't even have time to eat or drink). Most of my guests didn't sit down, either. However, my parents and my aunt sat for most of the party. Because of that, I have to say that having tables and chairs was a godsend.

Now, with that being said, if your crowd is young and no one has any special needs due to physical issues, then not having tables and chairs shouldn't be an issue. However, if you have many older guests or some with physical issues, definitely take into consideration the lack of tables and chairs when you make your final decision.

Mommy Poppins, I'm as confused as you are with all the recent changes. I feel for you, I honestly do. <<HUGS>>

I know that whatever you decide to do, it will be the right thing. Your vow renewal will be beautiful and you will get to continue on with your happily ever after.

My dh and I just got back from disney and I showed him your two options, we both agreed that the Morrocco location did not look very good (there was a party set up there ready to start) especially if you have any short people and that Japan looked like the better option.
