Has any Disney brides out there had a dessert party in Epcot, preferably Italy Isola? Did you have to purchase flowers and such from Disney to decorate it up? I know its required that we must use disney florist but I was wandering how much do I really have to decorate, if at all? What did you have as a spread? Also did you have drinks, what kind?

Thanks,
Malibelle

I am also thinking of having my desert party there and would love some decorating information. I was actually thinking of just some candle votives on the tables and maybe the round glass beads or flower petals.

Our Dp is at Italy Isola in July and we are just paying for the table set-up which comes with standard white linens and placing fake votive candles on the tables for really cheap. You could buy some votives on your own and send them down to be set up. The locations really do not need much. People are looking at the beautiful surroundings...the fireworks show and its dark. I would not go overboard...but thats my opinion.

We did votives for the tables. Personally, I think being IN Epcot and watching Illuminations is enough and there is no need to go overboard on the decorations.

we brought candle holders from home for our tables & glow sticks but that was all the decor we used for our dessert party. the event in its own is fabolous i dont think extra decor is really needed. as for drinks we had the childs in you dessert menu with milk, lemonade, water, coffee & tea.

they are from Disney Floral - i think like 5 bucks each and they are imitations candles. NO picture sorry :confused3

I am the big re-user. All of our flower and decorations from the reception will be re-used to decorate for our Illuminations Party. Ahh the joy of Disney. I wrapped glass cylinders, and bought mint julep cups that they are going to place at the tables. The julep cups will be filled with hydrangeas. Here are pictures of the cylinders.

Our DP is in the Lower UK. We are having a chocolate fondue party. We are using the same plastic lights we purchased this year for our pumpkins. We are spray painting them so the are not orange and we are also getting glow sticks for everyone. We are 66 days away :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

So I have a question about decorating. I was under the impression from the Disney sight that they tend to control everything and that if you want decorations you can certainly have them - rented through them and pay a fortune for them. The impression I get from you guys is that you can decorate with your own things to your hearts content. True? And if so when are you setting this up?

Thanks!

well for dessert parties you can not gave another company do decorations but you can bring some things on your own. I wouldn't say you can decorate a lot on your own simply because there will be fees to set-up. Typically small ones of 75 bucks or so, but I don't think they would set up 5 things at each table for you. A few votives is fine. HTH

A dessert party sounds so wonderful! Does anyone have any information on this or maybe a site where I can look? :lovestruc

Thank you so much!
