Illuminations Cruise Question

Hello everyone!

DH, DD12 and DD8 are planning a "surprise" 40th birthday weekend for me at WDW in Sept. We are doing MSSSHP/MK one day and have another free day for a park. We had thought about doing HWS and then doing the cruise (if it is available). My question is - since it leaves from Y&B - do we need EC admission? This would affect our decision.

When we did the Illuminations Cruise a few trips back, we just had to pay at the marina and we did tip the CM. We did not need EPCOT tickets for the cruise.
