Illuminations Cruise Question

From everything I have seen this is something that must be booked ahead of time. We are staying Concierge at WL in Nov/Dec and when I asked them if they were unable to book this since it did not show on my reservation they stated it was a request not a guarentee reservation. Am I missing something? I've been very disapointed in Concierge so far and wondering if it is really worth spending the extra if they are of no help booking anything.

Could this be because the reservation window isn't available yet? You have to be 90 days or less out to book and it's probably the same for concierge to book it for you?

This cruise must be booked exactly 90 days out and it sells out in miniutes!!! I have gone on 5 and have loved it every time!!!

I thought they could be booked at 180 days out. That may be the problem. I will wait till the 90 day mark and see what happens.

I didn't think they could guarantee it, there are only a certain # of boats. I thought I read somewhere that there is a boat or two (???) or something held for conceirge guests, but if more people than that want to book it, would it be first come, first serve?

At any rate, I hope you get your cruise. We did one last fall, and it was great!

I booked our specialty cruise on The Breathless 90 days out on the first try with no problem.

Any requests submitted to the pre-planning department prior to the booking window, are referred to as pending items. They aren't guaranteed until they have a confirmation number. Cruises are still at the 90 day window and I believe there are 5 or 6 pontoon boats available, plus the Breathless for Illuminations cruises. They are limited due to the space available for viewing. Pre-planning will be on the phone trying to secure one for you, but if you are concerned, you may want to call WDW-PLAY on your own. Just be sure to set your clock for 10 minutes prior to the phone lines opening and I'd do a test phone call ahead of time, just to see if there are any prompts that may slow you down (speed dial is good too).
