Illuminations cruise new years eve, and Epcot help

Hi we have booked a new years eve cruise for the midnight illuminations
We're having dinner at yachtsman at 7pm do you think it would be easy enough to go into Epcot for a couple of hours to see what's going on and get out again easily enough for our cruise? I could maybe make dinner for 6pm instead

Our boys who are 12, 12, 15 are desperate to be able to go into Epcot to see some dance party's and enjoy the atmosphere, i have visions of never getting out again to make our cruise and thought I'd ask if it was indeed doable.

I’d plan 90 minutes for dinner. I’m not sure what time your cruise starts so you might have some extra time. Changing to 6pm would definitely give you more time to go into Epcot.

I was thinking of booking this for next years New Years. Did you find it hard to get this reservation? How many days into your trip is New Year’s Eve?

Hi yes it was incredibly hard to get, I called every day for wks, to be told they wasn't released and they had honest date, it was also really expensive.
I think we've paid like $1100 for the cruise alone not including any champagne etc

Oh wow I didn’t realize it cost so much, but I guess it makes sense being such a popular night. So when your booking window opened it wasn’t released yet? Right now I have a split stay booked and was wondering if this would hurt my chances at booking this. Is that price based off how many people or for the boat?

For new years eve they was released completely separate, I was able to book a MK cruise for new years eve, and I cancelled it and switched to the Epcot one soon as it was released, lie I said I called every single day to get it, to be told it wasn't released yet.
And also that they didn't know when it would be, I finally called explained the situation that I was calling from the UK and a cm booked it for me. I can't remember offhand exactly when it was.
I'll try and find my booking doc. And post back.
All I know is they are double the cost of the MK ones and I wasn't quite expect that.

That price is for the boat, I booked and I'm staying offsite, actually I did have a onsite stay booked, at the time but it didn't effect the booking. it's a separate event to dining etc anyone can book as soon as it's released

That’s great to know I thought it was tied to your length of stay and those staying longer would have gotten it first

YMMV but in the past we have been picked up and dropped off at the Epcot dock. This was NOT on NYE and our last cruise was a couple years ago.

This sounds like such a neat way to experience the NYE fireworks. I think whether you have your dining at 6PM or 7PM, you will still have plenty of time to enter Epcot and soak in the atmosphere. My wife and I will be down there at the same time and we are also interested in splitting, if you decide to share your cruise. No pressure, and either way - have a great time!
