*Illuminations - Any Chance???

I booked the Candlelight Processional towards the end of December, with dinner afterwards at Rose & Crown at 7:10. I tried to make dinner reservations later, but they couldn't accomodate us.

Is there any chance we can see Illuminations? My thought was that we would get there right at 7:10, and ask for an outdoor table, telling them that we would be happy to wait, maybe we won't get seated until 7:30... Illuminations is scheduled for 9:30.

What do you all think?

From my experience I'd say there's a chance. I got a 7:30 PS there (like yours, the latest they had available). Wondering how I was going to s-t-r-e-t-c-h my meal to 9:30, especially since I was dining solo (couldn't use the excuse-"well, we got caught up talking and just haven't finished yet") Fortunately, when I checked in, I ended up having to wait almost 45 minutes to be seated. I found I didn't have to eat too slowly and got served dessert about 9:15. So for me, it worked out perfectly.

Don't eat anything for 48 hours ahead of time, then eat very slowly. Pity it isn't a buffet, or you could keep going back for one item at a time...

Just an FYI, 99% of the people who booked a PS at the Rose & Crown after 7pm are hoping for an outside table. You can no longer request one when you make your reservations and they will not allow you to request one at the podium. It's really luck of the draw. Whatever table is available when your name comes up, that's what you'll be given. You can sometimes decline the table and go back into the queue, but that won't guarantee that a patio seat will be available when your name pops up again. If you do get an inside table, they are usually very good about letting people head out onto the deck to view Illuminations when it's time.
