Illuminations After show!!!!

(I posted this last year when we got back tell me what you think. Or has anyone else seen this?)

We just got back from another great trip from the mouses' house,and we had a ball.But we discovered something,we set our reservations for Alfredo's for the last possible seating 8:45 they told us as long as we had sat down before 8;45 & ordered our drinks we could then go out and watch Illuminations,that was great!!!but the best was yet to come.Our dinner was over around 10:00 and we proceeded to leave world showcase,it was a ghost town i always wondered what it would be like to have the whole park to ourselfs. It was awsome we got some of the best pictures of the park that i've ever taken!!! BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!!!!As we were walking into future world there was a big explosion in the middle of the logon it lit up the whole park and we felt the heat come off the water it was amazing!!!!We all jumped because we weren't expecting anything like that to happen,at the same time a security officer was walking by and he told us it's something they do every night because they got to drain the lines of all the gas from the show. I'll tell you this there is nothing better than what we saw that night,to have the park to ourselfs and to see that happen it was special,i just wish i had taped it Oh well maybe next time.

Goodfella, I cannot believe you posted this!! Last summer I SAW this explosion from my BCV room on the 5th floor facing Epcot. I was the ONLY one to see it of my family of 5 and it scared me, I thought something had BLOWN up!! My family thought I was CRAYY! Thanks for the GREAT explanation. Joan

I just got back from Disneyworld as well and also had a late seating at Alfredo's. I did not see the explosion but I can attest that having the park all to yourselves is something well worth it. We left Alfredo's around 10:30pm one evening and walked back to our room at the Swan. What a nice feeling it is walking in the different lands with no one around you.

We all thought it was amazing seeing it so close and feeling the heat come off the lake was nuts,but to be honest we all had that nervous laugh afterwards.You are the only person so far that has seen it I can't wait to go back and eat at Alfredo's (last seating of corse)to have the whole park to are selfs again.Whats the use to rushing out so fast to catch those busses we are all going to get to the same place Well I for one can know how it is about 90% of the time you are beat at the end of the day

I also heard/saw this from our 5th floor beach club villas room last september. We had no idea what it was. Since they had raised the terror alert at that time, I was pretty worried! I turned on the news and everything. I figured that no one would blow up WDW after all the people had left & was finally able to go to sleep!

Goodfella, we will be in WDW the last two weeks in July. And at the BCV 7/27-8/01. I have requested an Epcot 5th floor again, and if we get it I will definitely be looking for the EXPLOSION! Joan
