Illness while flying

We live quite a ways from the airport, so we spend the night at a hotel near the airport prior to an a.m. flight. When the family member (say teen or adult) wakes up with a mild sniffle that escalates into a sore throat & general misery during flight...what's your best tip for comfort, especially meds?

Hi! Sooo sorry to to hear such bad news! I would suggest a multi symptom cold med that may have some acetaminophin(tylenol)in it too would help with cough, sinus and pain discomfort - and most important - LOTS of gum! A head cold can often cause congestion in the ears and a stuffy nose too, so keep the gum chewing going and or hard candy for throat too; just to keep from making the congestion worse.
