Illegal immigrant deported - thoughts?

Ok, I'm going to be politically incorrect. My basic problem with illegial immigrants is that there are 1000's of people who are trying to come here legally and it just pisses in their face when illegials start demanding "rights"
Basically I'm a play by the rules type of gal. Yes I know some times people bend the rules but for the most part, I think society and disneyworld ;) break down when people decide they don't have to follow the rules.

Good for the hospital, why should they foot the bill for some one who is not a citizen?

I didn't see in the article (maybe I missed it) but the drunk driver must not have had insurance. Otherwise, wouldn't his insurance be liable for all of this?.

Eh, it's not his fault he was injured, but he shouldn't have been here in the first place.

I can see both sides of the issue.

I agree, especially when the hospital in question has already spent over $1.5 MILLION DOLLARS on this ONE person! :scared1:

He should have been deported in 2003. Those resources should have gone to a legal immigrant instead.

I am all for immigration, different parts of my family immigrated here, but they all went through whatever the steps at the time were to become legal immigrants. One side came here early and settled at Jamestown and the other side came here in the 20th century, so they are pretty spread out.

If you are here legally, welcome. Immigrants built our country and are a pert of our history. If you are here illegally, don't let the door hit you on the way out. I don't care how or why they are sent back, but if they are illegal they should be sent back. This case was extraordinary but the underlying facts are that he was not supposed to be here.

All illegal immigrants should be deported as soon as they are found to be here illegally. What part of illegal don't people get?

$1.5 Million? Given hospitals' tendency to bloat costs, we can assume that covered 3 Tylenols and an x-ray.

I agree. I think it's a damn shame that the hospital spent 1.5 million before they figured it out though.

They gave him a charter flight home!

Honestly it seems like they didn't give the hospital any recourse, other than to deal with expenses for covering someone with no insurance, and not eligible for gov't state programs.

The hospital isn't a charity, and if it was (:confused3) caring for illegal immigrants probably doesn't fall under their mandate.

It said he was in the hospital for years, surely he was stable by the time he went home.

Even if it's one at a time, I'm happy -- just keep on sending them back. This one should have been tossed back as soon as he was stable and could travel.

:thumbsup2

Okay...first he is ILLEGALLY here in our country, basically another person sucking our country dry of our ever limited resources.
Not contributing to our society by sending the $$ back to the homeland, wherever that is. No taxes paid, no contribution....

So now, injury ensues (and yes the carrier of the vehicle he was in may have No fault ins, (are they even a NF state?) but not being versed in Fla laws, all that coverage was easily exhausted with a Para case anyway)...
So, the hospital and doctors and professionals that earn their paycheck are at the mercy of ill people with no insurance and not even citizens????
What happened to "handle the emergency to stabilize" then get them out thats what is supposed to happen for ALL people....with no insurance....
There are many LEGAL citizens, VETS and thr like, with no/little insurance that deserve that treatment and "space."

Illegal is illegal...problem is the powers that be Pander to illegals for "credit/ratings" and "show" and
MUCH more importantly, totally pander to the lower scio-economic people as their group is getting larger and larger...more people you dole it out too and give free/cheap services, the more they vote for you and the vicious cycle continues. SPEND and get VOTES!!

It reminds me......
of the case of the woman that gave up her child for adoption, signed everything away and then decided that "WITHIN" the time specified, indeed changed her mind ....BUT the couple that TOOK the child said they would not relinquish....so 3-4 years later as the pictures of the crying child are displayed for the world to see, we are all horrified with WHY on earth are they taking that child away from the only parents it knew....

But lets stop a MOMENT.....lets NOT forget that those same adoptive parents are the ones that Held that child for 3-4 years using a court system to buy time in the hopes that time would pass and they'd be seen as the "parents" (they ultimately lost their case, thus losing the child) SAD all around....

Point is/was.....lets not forget the FIRST fact here, the gentleman was here ILLEGALLY and unfortunately and very sadly injured, but why does that make the Good Old USA responsible for taking care of him......

So, no, I say deport him, I also say that this country is mired in political correctness and disaster looms....the combination of Illegals and Health Care....Goodness, WHAT a combination that is.....

And lest I forget in this rant.....we paid MILLIONS to Bermuda to house the 4 Guantanamo detainees so they can have a lovely pool home and not be in the USA.....
How many of you can even afford a Bermuda vacation ??

I say
WAKE UP America...the times they are a changing and I do not think for the better!!:sad2: But don't worry, I am sure Hillary will apologize to the world on our behalf! :lmao:
Okay, rant over! popcorn::

Number one, he was illegal. He gambled that nothing would happen and he would need something this extreme. He lost the gamble. I feel bad he is injured, but it doesn't change the fact he was illegal. Also, I may of missed it, but what part of the hospital giving him care sounded like false imprisonment. It was care they would never receive payment for. It sounds like he has been stable a long time, but just injured for life. Why should the hospital have to be responsible? I imagine that's why the long term car facility found a way to send him to the hospital. They didn't want to foot the bill either. It really bothers me that citizens of our country can't get this level of care legally, but someone here illegally can.
