Favorite Childhood Lunchbox!


Mine was a metal Snoopy Lunch pail just like this one:

And in case yer wondering....I've still got it....and I've been known to use!

Holly Hobbie. I still have it. It's rusty though. I think I still have the thermos too, but I'm not sure about that.

I've heard that it'll rust if you don't use it....

As you know, GP, I was JUST thinking about lunchboxes today and how I never kept any of them!

I used metal boxes all through elementary and into middle school where I started using plastic cases. In high school, I was a brown bagger.

There were too many but I do specifically remember:

Marvel Action Heros
Six Million Dollar Man
Evil Kneivel
The Kroft Super Power Hour (Capt. Kool and the Kongs, Wonderbug, Dr. Shrinker, Electro Woman and Dyna Girl)

I can't remember if I had any Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica lunch boxes or not...

Ditto for Dukes of Hazzard, but where I grew up, we thought it was a documentary!

New Kids on the Block were pretty popular when I was younger. So my favorite was my orange NKOTB lunchbox. I went on ebay and found a picture:

I have the Magic Kingdom one that JohnTBap shows in the first photo. It has the matching Thermos and was in perfect shape the last time I looked at it. It is in the closet of our spare bedroom. I suppose I should have it out on display. It really is pretty cool. I also have an old metal Superman lunchbox that was used (by me) a lot as kid... Sorry no pic of that one either. My favorite by far is the Magic Kingdom one though.

I only remember having one lunch box in grade school and I hated it! It was a "barn" lunchbox, shaped and painted to look like a barn and the thermos was the "silo." I just thought it looked like something a boy would have, so I never liked it. I was so glad when one year Mom finally said I could stop carrying it and just use brown lunch bags instead!!
