Good Morning All - Photos are on the 'puter and I am now ready with new ap to load and paste. Here are some from Boarding.
Our First Glimpse - as you can see it was a dreary day - cold and raining. (Photos first - hints and other issues later.)
She is BIG!...not too big, mind you, but tastefully big.
Checking In - with an assistant you see - Vickie was nice and had a long day with the Maiden.
Captain Mickey made an appearance as we were waiting to Board - we were #6 this time. Boarding was a bit later than usual.
Banners were everywhere...
And the Ship..... She is so Pretty!!!!
And along comes Minnie and Goofy
Three rather weather beaten travelers
And finally, #6 was called around 12:45...
Yes, you could not miss that this was the Maiden Voyage of the DREAM. There were banners everywhere and lots of excitement in the air. The first glimpse of the ship up close is how new and sparkling she is. And she is elegant. The larger size has not detracted. But this is just boarding, wait until you get on board. More later....This will be a long narrative, as long as you are reading, I'll post....
Comments: Disney still needs some pixie dust for the arrivals - on the positive side, the new parking garage is easy and if you do not have lots of luggage, then by-pass the drop-off and roll it from the car - easy. On the negative, and in the rain, the cover for standing needs to be enlarged and some type of system for fairly unloading the passengers needs to be implemented. Thus began a new term "Line Buddies" or "line-mates". I met some very nice people standing in lines, the first was boarding, a professional photographer. I'll be visiting his site for sure.
Boarding was later than normally expected both to be let inside and on the ship. We heard the ship will be adding another 500 crew - this might help. Moving people on and off the ship needs improvement.
