IHOP on Harbor - so bad?

I'm planning to have breakfast before entering DL on my first visit (that is Wed 4/30). I'm staying at Park Vue Inn, so the natural choice would be IHOP... I don't think Park Vue breakfast would be enough, as we are planning a very late lunch.

But I've read very bad reviews on this IHOP... is it so terrible for breakfast? What else would you suggest? I'd prefer not to go anywhere far (even mildly so), not to waste the advantage of staying at Park Vue!;)

Thanks a lot for your input!

If it is the IHOP right accross from DL than the food is good but it is soooooo ESPENSIVE!!!!!! We ate there thinking it would be cheaper than in the park and we were wrong! A cup of coffee was almost three dollars! Almost the same price as gas! OUCH! Be careful. Just because it isn't in the park doesn't mean it is cheaper. You might be better off eating in the park.

We've eaten here twice and it's not horrible. It takes like IHOP. But it is incredibly expensive. I was newly pregnant last time we went and all I wanted was dry toast. It's was $2.50 for toast!! I was shocked. The full on hot breakfast is going to run you around 10-14 a person, depending on what you get.

Like the previous poster said, I ended up getting some fruit and a muffin in the park and the price was the same. SO, I would still go to IHOP if you want a huge, hot breakfast just to save time. Once in Disneyland, I would hate to waste time sitting and waiting to be served breakfast.

It taste like Denny's if that means anything to you. I think people give it such bad reviews because it's a poor value for your money.

I liked the ihop. Of course it is a bit more expensive than a regular ihop because it's right across the street from Disney. It's cheaper than the park food though. (depending on what you get!)

We were there TWICE in June for several days and ate there regularly. It met our needs and I didn't even notice the price (call me crazy). I knew we had to eat and it was close and worked for us. I LOVED the potroast meal and even had my husband get it to go one night and he brought it back to the hotel :)

Again...many have to stick to a budget and I totally understand that. But for us it was reasonable, good food, and even the service was great! Two nights we went in (had a sleeping baby) they put us WAY in the back where we were the only people there (quiet)...that was so nice!!

Just wanted to put in my 2 cents (although maybe I spent it at IHOP this past summer..hehehe)

Yes, that's exactly why I'd like to go there. Thank you all for your reviews, it seems it's not so terrible as I thought... at least foodwise. On the other hand, I could feel robbed! :sad2:

We ate there and the food tasted fine, but then we found SPINACH in my daughter's chocolate chip pancakes. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) she was mostly done with it when we found it, but they didn't offer to comp anything. How could spinach get in there?

Wy expensive. YOu can get a full breakfast at Tomorrowland Terrace for around $8-9, and it is really good! Also, Le Brea Express in DTD was tasty and cheap. My brother's family had breakfast at Rainforest Cafe in DTD, and he says it was cheaper than IHOP! Although that is a far walk from where you're staying.

Also Riverbelle Terrace has a nice breakfast in the $9 range. We usually eat our continental breakfast, hit the parks hard for a couple of hours,a nd then stop for breakfast in the park.

yeah... Even Mcdonald jacked up their prices... i think they dont even HAVE a $1 menu anymore...

You could always go to McDonalds right down the road I think it's about 3 hotels north of where you are staying.

Darn you go do something for a minute and somebody sneaks in a post on you......

I always say eat where it will fit into your park touring. I wouldn't venture out of the parks solely to eat since that takes time which given the cost of tickets is money spent not saved in some ways. There are certainly places to eat inside the parks with nice large portions that can be shared . However when I stay right there on Harbor, the convenience of eating at McD's or Mimi's is so nice. You can go early before the park opens to eat breakfast and then don't have to spend anytime eating in the park for awhile. Or you can wait and eat on the way back to your motel, this is especially nice during offseason when park hours are short. I am sure IHOP is more expensive and probably more than eating cs inside the park. However, I doubt that you can find anything cheaper as far as sitdown options inside the park or in DTD and sometimes it is nice to be waited on. I also want to say that IHOP has a kids eat free deal with the purchase of an adult meal, so that adds some savings (if that is indeed the case). I can really vouch for Mimi's which is about five minutes walk from IHOP (at most). Huge portions, nice atmosphere and pretty reasonably priced. And I want to say that thier prices are about the same as the Mimi's near me here in the Denver area. Its a step up from an IHOP in atmosphere and has a huge selection and they do serve breakfast all day.

I would probably never make a special trip to any of the offsite restaurants but I am glad that they are so nearby, that's one of the many perks of Disneyland, lots of places to eat and stay so close to the parks.

You could try Whitewater snacks at the GCH. The prices there aren't too bad (considering it's Disneyland), and it's not really out of your way if you're heading to the parks for the day anyway. Also it could save you some time if you don't want to spend the time at a sit down restaurant.

They have breakfast sandwiches in the $6-$7 range, yogurt $1.89, bagel $2.19, fruit cup $3.79, muffins/pastries $2.59, ect.....

Here's some of what's on the menu there with prices.

IHOP is good but it's very pricey. We prefer Denny's for that reason.

I second Mimi's. Much better atmosphere and better food. Same prices as home and only a little walk.

It's a question of supply and demand. You supply what they demand.:rolleyes1
Mickey Ds is much cheaper,if you like Mickey Ds.:confused3

I stay at Park Vue Inn all the time. They're breakfasts really aren't all that bad...muffins, toast, pastries, cereal, waffles, fruit, juices, milk, coffee & tea and it's FREE! Here's what I'd do...eat the FREE breakfast at Park Vue, then if you get hungry before your lunch, buy a snack at the park, or take snacks in with you. That way you're not wasting your time eating somewhere else and you can enjoy all your time at Disneyland! Just my opinion! ;)

Thank you all for your opinions!
