Ignore list

After you've put someone on your ignore list, do you truly ignore their posts? I know I don't. I've removed the names I did have on my list because I always viewed their postings anyway. I guess it's like a car wreck, I don't want to look but I just have to anyway.

Now I'm just trying to ignore whole posts instead of indivduals.

Haven't put anyone on my ignore yet - but I understand your statement about posts. Sometimes I just have to look and then wish I didn't. Call me weak, I guess.

I've never used it. I thought about it for one particular poster but that poster doesn't seem to post anymore so I guess that makes it a moo point. (inside joke)

Other than that one, I really can't think of anyone I would use the ignore feature on. Usually I have the willpower to overlook them. Usually.

Just one man's opinion.

I use it. I've used it since the last presidential election when I
only used it for one poster.
I've added two more this election so far. It's way easier for
me because their posts are always the same so it's quicker
for me to scroll threads and I'm not tempted to reply.
Actually, I LOVE my ignore list. It keeps me sane. Kinda like
ignoring the bully on the playground.

I've got a few people on it. From time to time I will read what they have to say on a thread...especially if they responded to my posts! ;)

I would MUCH rather like to be able to block an ENTIRE THREAD from showing up at all!!! :teeth:

Yep me too. However I actually took that person off ignore and we were getting along when they got banned.

I used it once, but ended up doing the same thing as you: reading the posts anyway.

One thing I've noticed lately is people telling others that they are on their ignore list or referring to it while posting. I kind of find that rude and childish-- kind of like "neener neener neener, I don't have to read your posts :p "

LOL - yeah, I did the same thing with the one person I ever put on Ignore. He blissfully disappeared a while back, and I haven't worried about it since. I do tend to "skim" posts by any number of people, though, particularly in the politics threads.

::yes:: ITA. Although I do have one on ignore, I just totally ignore this person. No need to tell this person he/she is on my ignore. More than likely he/she wouldn't even see my posting about it anyway.:p

So I can talk about you like you aren't there?

I have never even thought about using it. But then again, I stay away from the more serious threads. I still probably wouldn't use it.

I've told both my recent additions so they wouldn't keep directly
attacking me to no avail. Come to think of it, one of them
I told in a pm and the other on a thread. I wasn't doing the
"neener" thing but maybe it did look like it. Oh well, call
me childish....I'm rubber, you're glue-bounced off me and stuck
on you. Now there's another childish saying!!! LOL!
really, I'm just playin'

Just figured out how to add people to the ignore list and do not plan on ever looking at the few people who've made it to my lists (2 people in total) posts ever again.

The ignore list is a beautiful thing. ::yes::

Naw...never used the ignore feature.

Pretty sure I'm on a few though!! :p  ::yes::
*I mean the HauntedMansionGeek name!* LOL LOL

I have never used the ignore list - but I suspect that it would do me no good anyway - I would still read their posts! :p

I used it once for a very unfriendly person on another board who eventually left involuntarily also. The funny part is after he was gone I took him off of my ignore list and BOOM all of his PMs showed up! :earseek:

The fact that you don't even get a clue that you got an PM from them is a good thing. The posts I do read regardless, even if they BURN my eyes because I have to! Ugh! :teeth:

Actually, you also made references to the PMed person being on your ignore list in a couple of threads that person was posting to...perhaps that's where the "neener neener" factor comes in...
