We've been to WDW lots but have never made it to MNSSHP.

Our DD will be 2.5yo and DS will be 14 months on our Sept trip. DD has been to WDW and Disneyland, it's DS first trip.

My sister and BIL will be going to MNSSHP and I can't decide if we should go too and bring the kids or not.

How scary is it really? I know it's "not so scary" but are there lots of guests dressed scary? I'm so paranoid that it will freak the kids out and they won't want to go back to MK for the rest of the trip! DH is not concerned about this in the least. He loves Halloween so he is dying to go and bring the kids.

I'm leaning towards waiting a few years but also could see it being a fun experience! Thanks in advance for your input!

It is literally one of the most un-scary things you will ever do. I love MNSSHP, have been taking DS since he was four. If I could only go to WDW one time a year it would be when a MNSSHP is going on.

That being said, the only downside with kids that young is stamina. The party is 7-12 and you may feel like it's not "worth it" to either 1) push them past their limits or 2) leave early to get them back for bed at a half-way reasonable hour. If they'll sleep in the stroller, you can enjoy it yourself. A bonus is that at that age they are both free! :-)

I would say the experience would be a bit more fun for all once a little older, but I wouldn't NOT go just because they are young. I've taken DD2 to two holiday parties and haven't regretted it, I just adjust my expectations accordingly.

Totally not scary. We've been twice and it was so much fun. Most folks dress in Disney themed costumes. The "scariest" costumes have just been Disney villains. Lots of folks don't dress up at all. I would definitely do it. The kids will love it.

I agree with this 100% and if your kids can fall asleep in a stroller and have noise going on around then I would say go it is so much fun. for me the scariest part is the head less horse man and even that is not scary ( you can youtube it ands for your self but there is some kind of creepy music that plays)

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to hear it's basically not scary at all.

Both kids fall asleep easily on the go (and they are little night owls like me) so they can stay up pretty late. DD is a stellar stroller napper and DS appears to be following in her footsteps. I think we are going to go for it.

Thanks again!
