If you've stayed at both BWV and BCV....

I can't speak to the exact amount of time, but it is definitely longer to walk to DHS from BCV than it is from BWV. Regarding the skyliner, we took it from DHS to EP and it took nearly 30 minutes, with a relatively quick wait at CBR. I think we also stopped for about 2 minutes mid-ride. My family and I took the skyliner and my parents walked, and they beat us back to BCV, so walking is definitely more reliable. That said, I love riding the skyliner. There really isn't anything I DON'T like about BCV, it's an awesome resort. I recently added on at BWV, but I actually do like BCV better. BWV is just cheaper and the point chart is more suitable to a small contract. Either way though, and I say this on every thread where there is a conversation about BCV/BWV, you can't go wrong with either.

"Does the walk to HS from BCV feel a lot longer than from BWV?"

The walk is incredibly convenient for either resort, as is the Skyliner. Just ask anyone that doesn't have those options during their stay.

I'm hopping on here because I'm wondering what are my chances of snagging 1 night at BCV? I lucked out and got Friday, Sunday and Monday, but that Saturday in the middle has been elusive. So now I have 1 res for Friday and a 2nd for Sunday-Monday. I really want to try it out for location with my kids and it's killing me I can't find a Saturday!

1 night waitlist...should come through. Unless it's a studio and fall frenzy, then it might be tough...in normal times. Which now isn't normal times. So I'd say you have a decent chance. Just be sure to have a waitlist AND stalk the availability as well.

Well of course I'm looking for a studio and in November! 🤓 I have already waitlisted it though.

Does the walk to HS from BCV feel a lot longer than from BWV?

Anybody know the exact difference in distance / approximate time difference?

Any BWV lovers have anything significant they don't like about BCV?

TIA from a BWV owner with a BCV trip planned!!

It IS a lot longer. :)

It takes longer than 10 minutes to get from EPCOT IG to DHS on the skyliner - more like 15 to 20, depending on how long it takes to transfer at CB. But it's a nice ride and I would go that way from BCV as long as there wasn't any threatening weather in the area. :)

We've gone to DHS from BWV on the Skyliner, even though it's faster to walk.

What time does the Skyliner open? We are owners at BWV, but had a waitlist come through for BCV--so I was planning our attack for DHS. Planned on walking, and never even thought of the Skyliner! Like to get to DHS around 9, so wasn't sure if Skyliner was operating yet?

I read skyliner starts at 9 and is a total crowded mess at opening due to the boats not being used. So best to walk or even drive over and park or Uber to there and then Skyliner back. But I read a report of someone trying to get to Epcot at 9am (got in line a little before 9). Not sure from which hotel but want to guess Riviera. And they didn't get to ticket booth until 10.05.

To edit above....I went to look at the report and they were staying at BCV and went to Epcot Skyliner at 8.45 for 9am opening of Skyliner. Thought it would be quick but didn't get to HS ticket booth until 10.05. They said it was a poo show. Especially the line wher you get off and switch.

And I think HS opens at 10 now....so Skyliner is an hour before. In reading around just now it seems parking at HS at opening can be problematic too so its best to walk.

Bottleneck is at the CB station. At that point, to board the leg to DHS, you have people originating from the EPCOT station, the Riviera station POP/AoA station and the CB. That's a lot of people trying to get to DHS for "rope drop".

It wasn't a problem when the Skyliner was operating at full capacity, when the CMs were allowing more than one group to board a car and when the weather good. We used it last December and never had an issue. I doubt that is still the case with the pandemic precautions now in effect. If I have a choice, I prefer to walk. If you are not in a hurry, the ride is quite pleasant, IMO.

For whatever it is worth, we prefer BWV over BCV and are probably one of the few! We are BLT and VB owners but when we want to stay closer to EPCOT & HS we always prefer BWV. For us BCV always feels more crowded especially at the pool. The walk is slightly longer to HS from BCV too and we always prefer the walk (even back in the day when we were pushing double strollers in the heat of the day in summer!). We have booked BCV at regular times without issue but we typically get a 2 bedroom and know they generally do not go as fast.

we are back from our first stay at BCV. we own at BWV, and have stayed there about 8 times, maybe a few more. We now know we prefer BWV. we very much enjoyed our BCV stay, don't get me wrong, and we REALLY enjoyed SAB. we spent 2-3 hours there on Thurs/Friday nights last week, and then about 4 or more hours on Sat afternoon (which was MUCH busier,) Son loved the sand pool and slide, plus the other pools, and daughter loved lazy river and pool variety the best. Glad for several hot tub options, and very glad for the amt of pools. That said, we used about 50+ more points for this over a standard view 1 bedroom at BWV. We had a longer walk to HS, and frankly quite a long walk to Epcot. Granted we were in a room all the way at the end of the hall, near the parking lot, so that also meant quite a hike to SAB. Funny how folks complain about the BWV hallways being long (which I don't notice,) but I found the walk from the main elevator to our room just as long as most of our BWV stays. I did very much love the small elevator nearer our room. I wish BWV had more elevators, besides just 3. The parking lot was VERY close to the room, so that was also nice/easy to transport stuff. We felt the room at BCV was smaller, I liked the tub well enough, but there was only 1 shelf for toiletries, near the faucet. I do not like the layout of the bathrooms at BCV or BWV, so they are equally bad. Although BCV does get bonus points for having the toiled in a separate space. I would consider a night or 2 here again, on a split stay, and ONLY for the pool. Otherwise, I didn't see any advantage to staying at BVC over BWV. But I understand better why some love BCV.
