We usually enjoy the animals when we wake up, but always wanted to try concierge at AKV. Would you forfeit animals/views for the benefits of concierge? Would you split your stay? I know it's personal preference but just trying to get thoughts from people that have been!

Will have at least one person with us that has never been to AKV, if that changes your decision.

Thank you :)

You need to book a short stay and give it a try for yourself.

We enjoy watching the animals so our favorite place to be at AKV is in a Savanna View 1BR in Kidani on the lowest possible floor. We did book Club Level once so that we could do the Sunrise Safari. We also booked the Wanyama Safari that trip. It takes you around the savannas at AKV so for a couple of hours we had the best animal viewing you could get at AKV. That helped to make up for seeing so few animals from our Club Level room.

You are not guaranteed a savanna view from a Club Level room. Three of the 2BR lockoffs face an alcove of the Sunset Savanna, the other two face the pool area. Even if you do get a savanna view room, you are up so high that the tree tops block a lot of the view. You only see animals when they come right into the alcove and are under the trees closest to your room. When you are on a low floor at Kidani, you can see through the trees and see animals in the distance as well as those close to your balcony so that is why we prefer Kidani.

I'm glad we experienced Club Level once. We booked a studio due to the high price of the Club Level rooms. We planned a lot of resort time that trip so having the lounge right there with snacks and drinks worked out well. All of our AKV stays since then have been in a 1BR at Kidani. I would rather be in a 1BR with great animal viewing and buy my own snacks and drinks but it was fun to try it once.

We wouldn't use the points to book a 1 or 2 bedroom concierge.
We started off with a couple nights in a concierge studio on a holiday weekend when the points were significantly higher for a 1 bedroom.
We wanted to try it and have access to drinks and snacks as the points were not significantly higher for the concierge studio over the savanna studio for the couple of nights.

We switched to the 1 bedroom savannah for the rest of the week. I would much rather have the savannah view than the concierge level amenities.

We did it once and never need to do it again. I far prefer a better Savannah view.

We stayed a week in a 1Bdr and enjoyed viewing the animals in the morning and the evening. I have found anywhere you stay with a Savanna room you get to see animals. The feed them in different savannas and different times of the day so they are always rotating. Definitely worth the pampering in my opinion

Tried to book this morning. Logged in 45 minutes late and couldn't get concierge. Trying tomorrow!

We are view folks and I think the 5 floor views of the savanna are poor enough. I agree with the above post that a Kidani Village savanna view on a low floor is the way to go.

lovetotraveltx, good luck with getting a room, it is the most difficult reservation to get IMO.

Got 2 nights in concierge. No problem right at 8:00 this morning. But, got confused on my points so don't know what I'm doing :(

Congrats! I tried looking this morning, but the site down. Wasn't sure if you'd get the nights you wanted!
