What is your schedule? I drop my DD off a school and head to work. I arrive between 8:30-8:45. Then I leave work at 5:00 and get home around 5:45. Her dad picks her up from school. He works shift work and is home during the day except for 5 days of the month. On those days I leave work at 2 and pick her up. On my 5:00 days, I feel like I get home so late. Some of my friends are teachers, so they are out by 3, and I have a friend thats a morning cook and home by 1:30. They look at me like I'm crazy to work until 5. During the summer i work 8:30-5 because I don't have to leave to pick her up from school. I'm just curious what time other working mothers get home at night.

I leave the house about 7:10 to drop the kids off at daycare by 7:30. I then work from 8 - 4:30 and pick the kids up after. We are usually home by 5:30'ish.

DH usually leaves in the morning around the same time but he works from 7:30 - 4:30. Since we both get off work at the same time I usually get the kids while he heads home to start dinner, throw in a load of laundry, etc.. or vice versa depending on the day.

Well- I'm really lucky to be able to adjust my work schedule to suit my kids here's mine:

7:10 am leave house
7:45 am drop kids off at school
7:55 am in my office
work though lunch
3:10 pm leave for the day & pick up kids from school.
3:45 pm home

I also can do work at home so my situation is alot better than it used to be. We have only been doing this schedule since October and its working out well.

Dh drops DD off at daycare at about 8 a.m. I leave work between 4-4:30 and am usually home by 5-5:15. Daycare is 3 miles from the house.

I only work three days a week, but I work 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. I leave the house at 6:45, so my DH takes the girls to before school care around 7:30 on T & Th. They go to my parents on Wed mornings (same bus route).

Afterschool, my DH works till 3:00 pm on Tuesdays (or he brings home work) and he is there when the girls get home at 3:45. On Wed and Thurs, they take the bus to my parents and I pick them up around 4:40 pm.

Since my oldest will start Middle School next year, I'm cutting my hours to 7:30 to 3:00 pm, so I'll be home by 3:30 next year. The oldest will be home for about 15 minutes and I'll be home for the youngest. The youngest will still go to before care like she is now (school and my parents). The oldest can be up at Middle School by 7:30 for breakfast.

I am very much a morning person, so this works best for me.

This year now that I am working in the high school cafeteria my work schedule works out great with DDs.
We leave at 8:35 and I drop her off around 8:43. then I am at work by 8:50.
then I get off at 2 have a little me time and then pick DD up at 3:10. Works out great. When she is in high school I will just take her to work with me.

I leave the house a little after 7am - kids are at daycare by 7:30 - I'm at work by 7:45 - leave work at 5pm - pick up kids - home by 5:30

Jenny:)

My schedule is pretty similar to yours, OP. I leave at 7:30, drop DD off at school. Leave work between 5 pm and 5:30 pm, pick up DD between 5:30 and 6 pm. I'd love to have the flexibility to be done earlier in the afternoon, but unfortunately I don't.

I have 2 part time jobs - 1 (8) hours a week, 2 (30) hours a week
My schedule:
Job #1 - I work M-W-F from 8AM - 11AM (this is flexible!!!)
Job #2 - I work 3 nights M thru Thurs (can vary on which 3) 5P-10P and then every Sat 9:30A-5P and every Sun 10:30A-6:30P (NEVER WORK FRIDAY NIGHTS)

DS has school (kindergarten) M-F from 8A-11A and DD has preschool M-W-F 8A-11A and speech on Tuesdays at 9:30 for 1/2 an hour. While I am at work the kids are with DH and he tends to go to his parents for part of that time. It works for us for now. I intend on going just days and hopefully no weekends once both kids are in school full time.

I leave home at 7:15, drop dd off at 7:30 and get to work at 8:45. I leave work at 5:00, pick dd up at 6:00 and get home at 6:15. I hate my commute. :( At least I only work M-Th.

I leave the house by 6:30 every morning, usually a little earlier. DH takes the kids to school. I'm at work at 7:00. Sometimes I leave around 4:30, but that's the earliest. Usually closer to 5:30, which gets me home around 6 p.m.

DH works shift work and can take and pick up the kids most of the week. My parents help on days that he has to work.

I work 2 evenings a week from 5pm-1am and every other weekend 6pm-2am Fri/Sat/Sun. It's a hard schedule but it has worked for us. Now that DH isn't working it's easier on me as he gets up with the kids-I don't have to get up at 6:15am to get the kids on the bus when I only had 3hrs sleep.

I put the kids on the bus at 7:35, go back into the house for breakfast, and leave for work at 7:55 to get there at 8:00.

I leave work at 5:00 and get home around 5:05, and most days either FIL or DH have the kids at home by the time I get there.

I have a fantastic commute, and my office is about 1/4 mile away from the kids' school, so I can go there easily when I need to .

Denae

Edited to add - I often go home for an hour at lunch time too - I throw in a load of laundry, unload the dishwasher, etc.

The 3 neighbor kids arrive at 8:15 and I feed them all breakfast, then we depart for school at 8:50, I drop them off and am at my office by 9:05.

Depending on what is going on, I am usually here until between 4 and 5, I have a very flexible schedule.

Whoever gets close to home the soonest picks up DD at her afterschool program. This is usually DS who heads home, does his homework and then picks up his sister.

Whoever walks in the door first starts dinner. We are all usually home by 5:30-5:45.

I work M,T,W and every other weekend from 9-7. I leave around 8:15 and drop the boys off at daycare during the week. My husband works from about 6-3:30 M-F so he picks the kids up. Then the boys are home with daddy on the weekends when I work. Not the most perfect schedule but I am at home with the kids on Thurs and Fri so it does save in daycare costs. Besides in 3 more years they will be in school and I will have Thurs and Fri to myself :cool1:

I get up at 6:15ish, get the girls ready and take them to my mom's house at 7am. We have breakfast at my mom's house, along with DD8's friend who lives down the street from her, and I leave for work at 7:40, my mom takes the older kids to the bus stop shortly after. I work from 8-4:30 and then go pick up the girls from my mom's house, where sometimes we even get fed. If we don't get fed or go to the store, we get home around 5:30 or 6pm. I don't have a DH to help out with the chores, so I usually pick up some dinner if Mom doesn't feed us or whip up something quick ("breakfast for dinner" is a favorite) and get the chores done (and by done I mean catch up on last week's laundry and look at the kitchen and tell myself, eh it's good enough) before falling asleep with my tv shows unwatched, and then do it all again the next day.

Up at 7:15, get kids ready, off they go to school (live across the street) at 7:45

Lay down with Dh:love: until 8:45AM, take shower, he brings me to work for 10

I finish at 3:30, as DH replaces me, already having picked up the kids at 2:22

I do this Tues, Wed, Thurs, as Monday, Friday's are my days off. I do work weekends, so that SUCKS.:headache: But, my weeks are easy, it is the weekends that exhaust me.

We own our business, so we are flexible, just a bummer we are only home Tues, and Thurs, to eat as a family together.

I get up at 4:30 a.m. and get myself ready. Then, at 5:10 a.m., I wake the kids. While they are getting dressed, I fix their breakfast, get my son's asthma meds out, and get any lunch together.

They eat and we leave the house at 5:50 a.m. I drop my son at a neighbor's house (they take him to school at 6:00 a.m. for before care) and I take my DD to her bus stop (which is several miles away). Her bus leaves around 6:10 a.m. It then takes me an hour to get to work. I stay at work until 3:00 p.m. and get back down to where I live in time to pick DD up from her bus at 3:45. We are usually home by 4:00 p.m.

DSD13 gets on the bus at 7:05. I leave the house at 7:40 with DS7, get him to school at 7:45, and get to work at 8. DSD gets home about 3. I leave at 4 or 4:30, depending on my schedule, and then pick up DS at the afterschool program.

DH leaves at 6:30 am, gets home about 5:30 pm.

I leave the house at 7:45am, drop DS off at before care, get coffee, start work at 9am-5pm. DH picks him up from school at 3:30pm. I am usually home by 5:30pm unless the traffic sucks and then I'm not home until closer to 6pm.
