I've mentioned my oldest daughter being pregnant here before. The "other" grandfather of the baby (the father's father) passed away early this afternoon after a two-year battle with cancer. We had all hoped he might live to see his grandson at least once before he died, but at this point we are also grateful that he has passed on now and is no longer in pain.

Still, the family is grieving and sad, and if you are the praying sort a prayer for his family would be deeply appreciated.

No response necessary if you don't want to post back, I will assume the positive (a private prayer) instead of the negative (an uncaring board). Thanks so much.

I lost my dad in January about three weeks before the birth of my daughter. It was hard, but I was so glad thay he was no longer suffering.

And Nanner, I'm sorry. My grandfather passed about a month before my oldest was born, but that's different than a parent. Not that it wasn't sad, but he was almost 90 years old and you expect it to happen sooner than later by that point. This baby's grandfather was only about 50.
